“Anyone who sees your scars before they see you doesn’t deserve you. A body is simply a package for the true gifts inside and we are gifts. Selflessness, kindness, and compassion. Youth and beauty fades but human decency doesn’t.” This is my favorite quotes in one of my favorite books. This is about a girl who was too focused on her past and outer appearance to live her life now. A girl and boy who was lost in their own world of guilt and hiding. Seeing what could have been instead what could be…just stuck in the past. Waiting to be saved without realizing that their actually waiting. One caused the pain but both were in need of saving. This is life. One black hole of self-pity We are flawed. We are all scarred. We live our lives focused on our flaws. How to cover it up? How to change it ? How to be another person? Funny thing is while we wish to be them, they wish to be us. I know it’s messed up right but as always it’s true. THE UGLY TRUTH. We can never be comfortable with who we are. We can’t see that what we see as flaws and scars can be marks of who we are. Scar are permanent things that can’t be washed away thus, they will always be with us. They will always remind us that we are flawed and lost. But what if we saw it in different light. What if they also shape us, making us who we are and who we are meant to be. They can be a reminder too. A reminder of what we went through and what we overcome. It can remind us we passed our troubles and obstacles and came out stronger than before. A scar can also be a symbol of that. A thing to be proud of NOT to hide. Who doesn’t admire someone strong who overcame her/his hardship and came out stronger? I do and I believe many people will too. Because in reality all of us have scars whether it’s physically shown or hidden so deep inside even you aren’t aware of it. Each of us carry our own pain and scars. Just because we can’t see it doesn’t mean it’s not there. Some of us are just better at hiding it than others. WE ARE PAIN. As human, by nature flawed animal, we tend to only see our pain. Not every pain is the same too. It’s as different as our faces are. How we deal with it differs too. Pain... it seems that no matter what path we take, we can’t seem to escape this word. So why not just live with them? If there are so relentless to let you go then make them a part of you. Hey it’s just a suggestion. At least this time we won’t be surprised when pain come banging on our damn door. We will be ready and stronger for it. Who caused this? Its ourselves. Me, you ,him, her. We can say society judge and are shallow causing us pain but we are the society. We judge, we disgrace, we scar by only acknowledging the outer appearance without seeing the inner person and understanding. We are just selfish. I am willing to admit it …are you? We don’t trust, we are suspicious We lie, we hurt, we ignore, we love, we pick ourselves over others. We are selfish humans. I know what you are thinking…how can love be wrong? Well I am willing to consider love as a sin. If it tend to lead to heart break, jealousy, pain and loss. How can we see it as a blessing? How can one give over oneself without any self-preservation knowing all this, I have no words. I truly admire those people who love selflessly …but I can’t believe what I can’t see. So there you have it. The world we live in but it doesn’t mean it will always be like this. Change is Nature. But to change the world, it has to start with the people living in it. Now more than ever.
