87 years of expert advice and inspiration, for every couple.
Jessica Booth is a journalist with over 10 years of experience and a freelance writer whose work has appeared on sites such as Bustle, Insider, and Refinery29.

Hollywood relationships tend to be the butt of the joke. Many A-list couples get together and move way too fast, going from a new item to engaged or married in just a few short months...and their relationships don't usually last very long. But, really, there's a lot more long-lasting love in La La Land than one would think.

For every couple that burns and fizzles out quickly, there's a famous celebrity couple that seems to be in it for the long haul. Whether they've celebrated decades of marriage or have simply had a successful relationship without husband or wife titles, there are plenty of stars who have made things work. Here are some of our favorite celebrity couples who remain an inspiration to the rest of us.

Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart met back in 2002 at the Golden Globes , tied the knot eight years later, and celebrated 10 years of marriage in June 2020. Flockhart had adopted her son, Liam, right before meeting Ford, and the two have since raised him together. They keep things pretty low-key and live on an 800-acre ranch in Wyoming.

Beyoncé and Jay-Z have been together for more than 20 years and are arguably one of the music industry's most iconic couples. They met back when Queen Bey was only 18 years old and quickly became an item. Since then, they've gone through Jay-Z's infidelity (which Bey sang about extensively on her 2016 Lemonade album), and have become parents to three kids: Blue Ivy and twins Sir and Rumi.

This Hollywood power couple has been married for over 30 years (almost unheard of in La La Land!). They met in 1981 on the set of the ABC sitcom Bosom Buddies and got married in 1988. They have two kids together, Chet and Truman Hanks, and they've been through everything from Wilson's breast cancer diagnosis to getting coronavirus in 2020.

Who doesn't love witnessing Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds completely troll each other on a regular basis on social media? The two started quietly dating not long after starring in The Green Lantern together, got married shortly after that, and have since had three kids together. They're also one of the funniest couples in Hollywood and we love them for it.

This charming couple had a pretty chance meeting: they first met on a street corner in New York City, when Neil Patrick Harris ran into his friend, Kate, who was hanging out with David Burtka. Although Burtka was in a relationship at the time, they ended up running into each other again and became friends. Once they started dating, it took only three months before they moved in together, and now they've been together more than 17 years and have kids.

Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith have certainly had their fair share of ups and downs, but that somehow only makes their relationship more lovable—and more relatable. They met back in 1990, got married in 1997, and are the parents of Jaden and Willow Smith. While they've never come out and said they have an open marriage, Jada has said , "I trust that the man that Will is is a man with integrity. He’s got all the freedom in the world...and as long as Will can look himself in the mirror and be OK? I’m good."

Although Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem have been together for more than 10 years, not much is known about their relationship—they keep things pretty private. They secretly tied the knot sometime before 2010 and have since had two children together.

Dax Shephard and Kristen Bell may keep their children private (they won't show their faces in photos), but they are notoriously open about their own relationship. The two got married in 2013 after famously waiting for same-sex marriage to be legal before tying the knot. They have always talked honestly about their relationship, even admitting when things are hard. Shephard once said , "We don't want anyone to think we met and it's been easy. Because if that's the expectation of a relationship, and certainly marriage, it's a bad expectation to have."

Viola Davis and Julius Tennon got married in June 2003 and celebrated 18 years together in June 2021. They adopted their daughter, Genesis, in 2011, and Davis is a stepmom to Tennon's two children from previous relationships.

At this point, Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick are basically a Hollywood institution. They've been married for more than 31 years and lately have become known for their activism, especially when it comes to politics. Bacon recently told Glamour , "We have a right to use our vote to voice our opinions, so to actually be asked to write down in a letter why [you should vote], that's powerful."

We might not get to see Elton John and David Furnish together a lot, but that doesn't make their relationship any less special to fans. The two met in 1993 and John proposed 12 years later. They've been married for nearly 30 years and are known for their AIDs charity. In fact, in 2014, they were honored with the Human Rights Campaign Equality Award. It's basically impossible not to love them.

When you think about a famous couple who has been together forever, Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell are probably one of the first to come to mind. They've been together nearly 40 years, and while their first meeting was in 1966, they didn't go on their first date until 1983. The two are famously not married and that likely won't change. Hawn once said , "We have done just perfectly without marrying."

One of the cutest things about LeBron James and Savannah Brinson? They're high school sweethearts who have been together since long before James became an NBA superstar. They didn't get engaged until 2011, after becoming parents to two children and learning how to navigate James' fame. They got married in 2013 and have since added a daughter to their family.

Sarah Paulson and Holland Taylor have been dating since 2015, when they reconnected on Twitter 10 years after first meeting each other (yes, Taylor slid into Paulson's DMs). The couple's infamous 32-year age gap has done nothing to stop their romance. Paulson once commented on their age difference to The New York Times , saying, "If my life choices had to be predicated based on what was expected of me from a community on either side, that’s going to make me feel really straitjacketed, and I don’t want to feel that. What I can say absolutely is that I am in love, and that person happens to be Holland Taylor.”

This 90s dream team of a couple has been married for more than 20 years. They got married in their mid-20s after meeting on the set of 1997's I Know What You Did Last Summer , and they have two kids. To celebrate their 20th anniversary, Gellar wrote on Instagram that the two started dating after a dinner with a mutual friend ended up being just the two of them. Adorable!

In 2010, months after first meeting at an Equinox gym, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Justin Mikita started dating. After marriage equality passed in 2013, they planned their own wedding, and things have been great since. In July 2020, the couple welcomed their first child together.

Victoria and David Beckham are one of the chicest couples in Hollywood, maybe even the chicest couple. The two first met in 1997 at a soccer game and have been an item since. They've been married for over 20 years, have four kids together, and somehow always manage to look like they just stepped out of the pages of Vogue .

Parents to three kids, the Westworld actress and her writer/director husband have been married for more than 20 years. Although the two keep things pretty low-key, it's hard not to be appreciative of their long-term love.

You can't talk about Hollywood's cutest couples without mentioning Lily Tomlin and Jane Wagner. The two have been together for more than 50 years—an incredibly impressive feat. They met in the 1970s, and Tomlin once said she fell in love with Wagner immediately. They got married in 2013 and have worked together multiple times.

Maya Rudolph and Paul Thomas Anderson have been dating since 2001, and although they have said they aren't married , the two do call each other husband and wife. They keep their relationship very quiet, so it's always a treat to see them step out on the red carpet together.

Another one of Hollywood's longest-lasting couples, Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker met in the 1990s on Broadway and got married in 1997. They now have three kids. While they do tend to keep things between them pretty quiet, Parker has been open about her feelings for Broderick. She once told Harper's Bazaar , "We’re very devoted to our family and our lives. I love our life. I love that he’s the father of my children, and it’s because of him that there’s this whole other world that I love."

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend first met back in 2006, when the model starred as Legend's love interest in his music video for "Stereo." They dated on and off for a bit before getting married in 2013, and have since become parents to two kids, Luna and Miles. We've watched them go through a lot, from fertility issues to a late-term pregnancy loss to Teigen's own bullying scandal. Still, the two have remained a passionate team.

Enrique Iglesias and Anna Kournikova keep their relationship so private that it's almost easy to forget they're even still together—but they are and they're adorable! The two are another pair that met on the set of a music video (Iglesias's "Escape" in 2001), and they started dating immediately. They now have three kids and are still happy together.

What's not to love about the charming couple that is John Krasinski and Emily Blunt ? The two first met in 2008 and got engaged less than a year later, famously getting married in Lake Como on George Clooney's estate. They have two kids and they are constantly gushing about each other in interviews, like when they said meeting each other was love at first sight.

Although Alicia Keys and Swiss Beatz first met as teenagers in the 90s, they didn't get together until 2008, when Beatz was still married to his first wife, Mashonda Tifrere. The pair eventually wed in 2010 and now have children together.

These two lovebirds first met back in 1995 on the set of All My Children , where they played on-screen love interests. In 1996, they eloped in Las Vegas one day after breaking up and getting back together. They've been together ever since and share three children.

You've probably noticed that Melissa McCarthy and Ben Falcone have appeared in several movies and TV shows together (he even popped up in Gilmore Girls once!). The two have the cutest professional and romantic relationship and have been together since 1998 when they met in a comedy writing class. Falcone once told Us Weekly that they were on "the very same page" since the moment they met.

This sweet couple met in 2006, quickly started dating, got engaged in 2011, and got married in 2012. McConaughey once told People , "We have a love that we never question." They now have two kids together and continue to have a strong relationship.

Cynthia Nixon was in a long-term relationship with her high school sweetheart Danny Mozes (whom she had two children with) when she met Christine Marinoni. Although Nixon had never been with a woman before meeting Marinoni, the two clicked instantly and got married in 2012. They raise a son together, along with Nixon's two other children.

Oprah Winfrey is such a powerhouse that it's sometimes easy to forget she's been in a relationship since basically forever. She met Stedman Graham met in 1986 and they've been together since then. And while Winfrey keeps their relationship private, she has talked about why they haven't married even after she accepted his proposal. She told O Mag , "I realized I didn't actually want a marriage. I wanted to be asked . I wanted to know he felt I was worthy of being his missus, but I didn't want the sacrifices, the compromises, the day-in-day-out commitment required to make a marriage work."

If Hollywood was one giant high school, then it's safe to say that Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen would be homecoming king and queen year after year. The football star and supermodel got married in 2009 after being set up on a blind date. They've had their share of ups and downs (for one, Brady's ex-girlfriend told him she was pregnant two months into their relationship), but they continue to be by each other's side every step of the way.

After meeting through a mutual friend in 2004, Seth Rogen and Lauren Miller hit it off and began dating. In 2010, Rogen proposed to Miller while she was changing her outfit in her closet. They got married not long after. The two have recently spoken about their decision not to have children, with Rogen explaining , "We have so much fun. I don't know anyone who gets as much happiness out of their kids as we get out of our non-kids. We're f—ing psyched all the time. We're lying in bed Saturday morning, smoking weed, watching movies naked—if we had kids we could not be doing this."

These two have been married together for nearly 40 years. They first met on the set of the TV movie Wilma in 1977 and started dating a year later. Denzel once told Access Hollywood that Pauletta turned down his marriage proposal two times before accepting and getting married in the 80s.

Back in 2011, Lance Bass and Michael Turchin met at the party of a mutual friend, and told People that they were just friends at first. Things eventually became romantic (although Turchin was definitely pretty starstruck in the beginning) and they got married in 2014. In 2021, after years of surrogacy attempts, a miscarriage, and failed IVF treatments, the two announced they are expecting their first child.

The actress and cinematographer met back in 2000 when Julia Roberts was filming The Mexican . The beginning of their relationship was a little bit of a scandal: They met when Roberts was dating Benjamin Bratt and Danny Moder was married to Vera Steimberg. Moder finalized his divorce in 2002 and then married Roberts that same year. They've been happily together ever since.

Judd Apatow and Leslie Mann have managed to keep up both an impressive working and romantic relationship for a while now. The two got married in 1997 and have been together for more than 20 years. They've worked on several movies together, and Mann once said , "I have such a good time with Judd. He's so great; such a great director. I get to have input and go into the editing room....It's the perfect situation."

Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet have such a cute story: back in the 1980s, Momoa had a crush on Bonet , who starred in a television show. They met for the first time in 2005 and Momoa knew it was his chance to impress her. They had two kids together and dated for 12 years before secretly getting married in 2017.

Tim McGraw and Faith Hill have to be country music's most iconic couple. They've been together for more than 20 years, they've toured together, and they've collaborated on music together. They met for the first time in 1994, got married in 1996, and have since had three kids together.

These two first met when Steve Carell was an improv teacher in Chicago and Nancy Walls was one of his students. Although Carell was nervous about asking her out in the beginning, they eventually started dating. Today, they've been together for more than two decades and even did a stint on The Office together once.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Brad Hall's relationship began back in the early 90s when they met while attending Northwestern University in Illinois. The two went on to have successful careers—they even did Saturday Night Live together. In June 2021, they celebrated their 34th wedding anniversary, and on an Instagram post, Louis-Dreyfus wrote, "34 years in, keeping our head above water. Love and love to the love of my life."

It felt like a match made in teen drama television heaven when Adam Brody and Leighton Meester got together in 2013. In 2014, they got married in a secret ceremony and welcomed their first child together in 2015. They keep their relationship pretty private, but whenever they do come out together in public, fans love it.

Another successful and very private relationship in Hollywood is the one between RuPaul and Georges LeBar. They met while dancing in a club in 1994, and started dating not long afterwards. While they keep things pretty quiet, RuPaul did once open up to Vanity Fair about their open marriage.

In 2020, Pink and Carey Hart celebrated 15 years of marriage together. They met back in 2001, and broke up before getting engaged in 2005. After a 2006 wedding in Costa Rica, the two split again before reuniting in 2008. They have two kids together and have been open about their struggles. Pink once said that they thank couples counseling for making things work, saying , "It’s the only reason that we’re still together because, you know, I think partners after a long time, we just speak—I can’t say it’s a man and woman thing, I think it’s a partner thing, a spouse thing—that you just speak two different languages."
