Amazon uses Rust in the performance-critical components of Lambda, EC2, and S3.

Of course, even more performance could be obtained using C++. I will show it in one of the following notes. Betting on Rust now is a matter of long-term investment, when the compiler frontend can finally reach C++ and use all available information to optimize the code.
