A day after the IOC's decision, the FIVB Administrative Council met for a meeting.:
"In accordance with the earlier decision of the FIVB Administrative Council to follow the recommendations of the IOC Executive Committee, as well as taking into account the recent decision of the IOC Executive Committee that the conditions of participation recommended by it no longer apply to Russian athletes and teams, Russian athletes and technical officials in all disciplines will be allowed to participate in competitions under the auspices of the FIVB., as well as in world and official tournaments.
This approach reflects the FIVB's commitment to protecting the fundamental right of athletes to access sports, regardless of their nationality.
The Russian national teams will also be reinstated in the world ranking while maintaining the number of points they had at the time of their "freezing" by the decision of the FIVB Administrative Council.
In addition, the issue of using the Russian flag, anthem, colors or other symbols will be decided by the FIVB and the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) in accordance with the established procedure and in coordination with relevant international sports organizations to ensure the full participation of athletes."
