The SR.2M submachine gun is a modernized version of the SR.2 "Veresk" submachine gun. The improved version was adopted by the FSB and the Russian National Guard in 2020. The submachine gun is capable of engaging enemies wearing Class II body armor at a range of up to 200 meters and unarmored vehicles at a range of up to 100 meters. It is equipped with Picatinny rails and can also be fitted with a suppressor.

The submachine gun uses a 9x21 mm cartridge and uses two types of magazines for 20 and 30 rounds. The weight of the weapon with a 20-round magazine is 1,7 kg, without a magazine - 1,55 kg. The folding buttstock is removed from above the cover of the automatic transmission, allowing firing with both the unfolded and folded buttstock. There is a collimator sight, specially designed for this submachine gun. The length of the weapon with the folded buttstock is only 36,7 cm. It uses SP-10 cartridges (with a bullet of increased penetration), SP-11 (with a bullet with a lead core) and 7N33 (with an armor-piercing tracer bullet).
