A 15 year old schoolgirl has been ‘cut into pieces’ by a freight train while taking a selfie on the tracks in Russia.
Karina Baymukhambetova, 15, was killed in Orsk, Orenburg, despite the driver ‘desperately’ applying the emergency brake.
Local media reported a relative who had been with the victim- managing to jump from the tracks before the incoming train.
He is said to have warned her of the danger only for the teen girl to allegedly tell him, ‘Be afraid of nothing in life.’
Reiterated the report, ‘The train driver spotted people on the railway line and sounded his horn.
‘He applied the train’s emergency brakes but failed to stop the train in time to avoid a tragedy.
‘The boy managed to jump away but the girl was not so lucky and was hit by the train which cut her body into pieces.’
Karina’s death provoked an outpouring of grief on social media.
Posted, Karina’s friend Anastasia Meshkova, ‘We remember, we love, we grieve.’
Wrote, family friend Lena Dzyuba, ‘Such grief. How her mother cried, my heart almost broke into pieces, so awful.’
Friend Anna Kalamaeva told the dead girl’s 39 year old mother Natalia, ‘Eternal memory to your little angel.’
A decision is to be made soon on opening a criminal case into Karina’s death.
The tragedy has led to a warning to young people in Russia on the need for selfie safety.
Denis Khnykin, transport police senior youth liaison inspector, told parents: ‘I ask you to pay your attention once again and to warn your relatives.
‘Please remind them of the fact that railways are dangerous both for your health and life.’
A point of fact which paradoxically makes some aspiring social media personalities willing to risk life and limb for the perfect photo op in a bid to further augment their social media status.
Elena Zaporozhskaya, Orsk social policy chief, said, ‘Children need to be able to say ‘no’ when something is risky for their life and health.’
‘It is a hard thing to learn but necessary.
‘Secondly, I want parents to know where their children are and with whom they are spending time.
‘People must protect the lives and health of their children.’
The latest fatality follows that of two 14 year olds incurring electric shocks in separate incidents after trespassing on rail tracks.

Bandana-wearing Andrey Emelyannikov used a knife to slit the throat of the 44-year-old health and safety lecturer at a polytechnic in the Russian capital - and then killed himself.
A STUDENT alleged to have been armed with a circular saw killed his teacher today in a brutal assault in Moscow, and after snapping a selfie with the dead body, took his own life.
It is believed the smirking bandana-wearing teenager used a knife to slit the throat of the 44-year-old health and safety lecturer at a polytechnic in the Russian capital - and then killed himself.
There was an electric saw at the scene according to a Russian news outlet with close links to law enforcement.
It is unclear so far if the saw was used by 18-year-old student Andrey Emelyannikov in the attack.
Gruesome pictures show a huge amount of blood on the floor under murdered teacher Sergei Danilov. The Sun Online has chosen not to run several of them due to their graphic nature.
The murder occurred during a break when few people were inside the college building," news outlet Mash reported.
"The victim (teacher) and the murderer (student) bodies had identical wounds. Next to them were found an electric saw. There was a knife on a desk close to bodies."
The student's body was undiscovered at first but later found under a desk. It was not seen at first by a teacher who discovered the scene from hell.
The carnage was at the Western Complex of Continuous Education on Gvardeiskaya Street in Moscow.
The dead teacher was a father of three children, the youngest a daughter aged one.
The killer student posted a song called November's Doom - and pictures of the dead teacher. After this he is reported to have killed himself.
Emelyannikov was said to have skipped classes for two weeks and reports say the teacher had warned him about expulsion for missing classes.
An unnamed student said of the teacher: "He was a very kind person. He was strict, but he was fair. He was like a father to us.
"I have no single bad thought about him. Regardless of what was happening, he was our support, he always tried to help us.
"If we ran into problems with teachers, he always tried to build bridges and help find compromise."
All witnesses say that there was not a single scream from the auditorium and that no-one walked out of it. The boy's mother said her son had no conflict with the teacher.
