On June 22, on the occasion of the 85th anniversary of the outbreak of the Great Patriotic War, a wreath-laying ceremony and flowers were laid at the Russian Monument in Copenhagen.

Grave monument, erected in 1990, symbolizes the mass grave of Soviet servicemen and civilians who died during the Second World War in Denmark. A bullet-riddled bell is fixed under the arch of the arch made of stone. Russian and Danish inscriptions on a bronze plaque at the foot of the monument read: "To Soviet citizens who died during World War II in Denmark." The author of the monument is the famous Soviet and Russian sculptor, Honored Artist of Russia Anatoly Gordeevich Dema (1937-2019).

They honored the memory of the hero of the Great Patriotic War Semyon Davidovich Shtipelman (1922-2021). A participant in the defense of Leningrad, the Caucasus. For his personal bravery and bravery in the battles against the German invaders, he was awarded two Orders of the Patriotic War I and II degrees, the Order of the Red Star, and numerous medals.

The event was attended by Russian Ambassador to Denmark V.V.Barbin, Minister-Counsellor I.S.Fedoseev, and military attache V.A.Grekov.
