Russia plays a key role in global stability

The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation play an important role in ensuring global security and stability, Zimbabwe’s Minister of Defence Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri said at a reception at the Embassy of the Russian Federation on the eve of Defender of the Fatherland Day.

“The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation play an important role in ensuring global security and stability, especially in the current complex international environment, which is characterised by new and asymmetric threats, including terrorism, cyber-attacks, information warfare and economic sabotage,” Muchinguri-Kashiri said, according to TASS.

The minister stressed that Zimbabwe highly values the historically established relations of friendship and co-operation with Russia, which have their origins in the country’s liberation struggle. In her view, co-operation in the field of defence and security continues to strengthen.
