Russia and African countries preparing new Action Plan

Russia and African countries are preparing a new Action Plan for signing, which will bring dialogue in the areas of politics, security and humanitarian co-operation to a qualitatively new level, Russia’s Ambassador to Ethiopia Evgeny Terekhin said in an interview with TASS.

“The Action Plan for 2023–2026 is coming to an end this year, and together with our African partners we expect to adopt a new document. We expect it to lay the foundation for moving our dialogue in the areas of politics, security and humanitarian co-operation to a qualitatively different, practical level,” the ambassador said.

The diplomat noted that Russia’s priority for 2026 is thorough preparations for the third summit of the Russia–Africa Partnership Forum. He stressed that Russia intends to “maintain the closest contacts” with all African Union structures in order to implement Agenda 2063: The Africa We Want.
