Rumors about "second mask death" of a child
translated by Corona Investigative
The emotions around the corona measures are boiling higher and higher. A new video of the Sinsheimer throat nose ear physician Bodo Schiffmann provided on Saturday for heavy waves in the Internet. In the short film on YouTube, which was first deleted by the Google subsidiary, but then put back online, the physician spreads the news, literally, that "another child" without pre-existing conditions has "most likely died because of a mask". However, Schiffmann, who is known for his massive criticism of the Corona measures, did not make any concrete statements. He said there was no autopsy report available yet.
The physician from Baden-Wuerttemberg speaks, at least it can be assumed, of a "second case" with reference to the death of a 13-year-old schoolgirl in early September. The girl had suddenly collapsed in the Germersheim district in a school bus and later died in hospital. There was speculation on the Internet that the child's death had something to do with the mask. However, there is no proof of this, and autopsy results are not yet available.
Schiffmann has long criticized the compulsory wearing of masks and sees serious consequences, especially for children. Just like Prof. Sucharit Bhakdi, who speaks of "child abuse" (see here). He would receive news from clinics and neurologists that children increasingly complain about headaches and concentration problems, says Schiffmann in the video, in which he is very emotional.
The physician also reports other problems with the mask: A father had written to him that his son was forced to wear one during physical education classes and forbidden to wear his glasses to ensure that the mask would hold securely. Due to the high degree of nearsightedness with six diopters, the child was "blind" as a result in school sports, according to the physician. Mouth and nose protection masks for children in sports lessons are "murder", says the Sinsheim doctor in the video. He speaks of child welfare hazards and a game. Even Prof. Drosten admits that masks do not help, says Schiffmann. He is probably referring to a statement made by the virologist in January. In Asian countries they have been worn for a long time, but there have been strong waves of influenza, the ENT physician said in the video.
The photograph leaves me perplexed, even dismayed. Although I consider it absolutely necessary to critically examine the corona measures and see very large deficits in this regard, I consider it more than problematic to attribute deaths without concrete proof or evidence to the mask duty. Personally, I have received several hints from readers that children have problems with the so-called "covering of mouth and nose". One reader described to me how, when her son was starting school, a child wearing a mask suddenly fell over. Many such reports can be read in various Internet forums. A difficult situation: On the one hand, as a journalist I have a duty to inform, but on the other hand I also have a duty of care.
Not only I personally am facing a terrible dilemma. The whole situation is such a dilemma: On the one hand, the trust that the media and institutions will really clear up possible grievances has been destroyed, and on the other, speculation and misinformation have opened the floodgates. I don't see any way out of this predicament, at least not in the short term. Except one: not to remain silent, to report, but to remain extremely critical on all sides. And to be moderate. I see the restrictions of basic rights as extremely problematic and I discuss this regularly. On the other hand, I think it is excessive to speak of a "fascist dictatorship", as Schiffmann does in his video - probably from a very emotionally charged situation. But that is counterproductive.
