Porn Star: The Legend of Ron Jeremy is a 2001 American documentary film based on the life of porn actor Ron Jeremy . The film is directed and written by Scott J. Gill. The film features Ron Jeremy describing his life and career, and co-stars Larry Flynt , Adam Rifkin , Seymore Butts , Alisha Klass , Phoebe Dollar, Kenny Dollar, Jenna Jameson , and Troy Duffy . [1] The film is produced by Kirt Eftekhar, and Scott J. Gill.
Porn Star: The Legend of Ron Jeremy was released theatrically on November 30, 2001, and on home media on March 25, 2003. [2] The film won various awards, including Best Feature, Audience Award at the No Dance Film Festival, and Best Film at the Melbourne Underground Film Festival . The film was nominated for Best Documentary at the Chicago Film Critics Association Awards .
In 1978, Ron Hyatt (now Ron Jeremy ) was a teacher who dreamed of some day becoming an actor. One day his girlfriend sent his nude photo to Playgirl magazine, who published the picture as part of their "Boy Next Door" feature. [3] Later he was asked to star in a hardcore pornographic film , which he accepted; this would become starting point of his pornographic career. [3] Jeremy became one of the biggest male pornographic actors in the adult film industry. He is nicknamed "The Hedgehog" due to "measuring in at 5-foot-6 and 250 pounds, with a bushy moustache and shoulder-length, and greasy black hair". [4]

In its opening weekend, Porn Star: The Legend of Ron Jeremy was screened in two theaters, grossing $23,865 with an average of $11,932 per theater. [5] In its second weekend, the film was screened in seven theatres, grossing $39,011 with an average of $5,573 per theater. [5] Porn Star: The Legend of Ron Jeremy grossed $421,516 worldwide for its 35-day run in theaters. [5]
On the review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes , the film holds an approval rating of 69% based on 48 reviews, with an average rating of 6.11/10. The website's critical consensus reads: "Porn Star is both an entertaining and poignant documentary on the life of Ron Jeremy". [2] Metacritic , which uses a weighted average , assigned the film a score of 54 out of 100, based on 18 critics, indicating "mixed or average reviews". [6]
Michael O'Sullivan, writing for The Washington Post , called Porn Star "a documentary portrait that is as sad as it is funny". [7] Edward Guthmann of San Francisco Chronicle wrote: "Shot over 18 months and edited from 150 hours of footage, "Porn Star" is a lively, ultimately sad portrait that asks a very good question – how can someone who looks as bad as Jeremy be a porn star? – and offers some reasonable answers". [8]
Collin Souter of efilmcritic wrote: "If you only want to see a documentary about a man and his oversized, flesh colored abyss, alien, you could do a lot worse. You will learn a thing or two about his butter churning technique". [9] Jim Sullivan of The Boston Globe wrote: "Gill's take on Jeremy's porn life is neither celebratory nor cautionary. It's the portrait of a porn star as a somewhat complicated man, one who savors basking in the spotlight and doesn't mind what reflection it casts". [10]

A schoolboy in Russia has won a month living with a porn star as a prize in an online competition.
Ruslan Schedrin, 16, was told he qualifies to spend a month in a Moscow hotel with the voluptuous Ekaterina Makarova.
He appears delighted about the prize, saying the X-rated actress has 'good sizes' and he is 'boiling inside' - but his mother and sister have reacted furiously.

'I didn't believe it at first, I thought it was rubbish,' he said. 'But when it turned out to be true, I thanked the website, I was so happy.
'I called my friends and they did not believe it either, they said: "What are you talking about?"'
Ruslan, who has worked as a child actor, added: 'Now they are happy for me too. Some of them are envious.
'I saw her and I liked everything, she has got good sizes.... and so on. I am looking forward to our meeting so much, everything is boiling inside me. I am happy so much.
'I have told my mother and she has taken it badly, but I think we'll sort it out. When I meet the girl, I'll say: "Hi, I am that very boy, I've won you."'
His mother Vera Schedrina said: 'I am absolutely against it. He has got exams, he is studying.
'What do you mean - a month with a porn star?
'This is not real at all, even a week is too much. They should give us 100,000 roubles instead, we'll be happy with it.

'Such a prize, how could they get such an idea for a 16 year old boy. I am shocked. I have not seen the girl. But my son must study.'
Under the rule of the competition, he can pass on the prize to his 'official representative', for example, his father. But the mother is against this too.
She said the prize has led to family 'quarrels' and her son 'has gone mad about it' .
Ruslan's sister Diana Schedrina, 17, said: 'I'm against it too. I don't think it is any kind of chance for him. He can find a girlfriend if he likes.
'I wonder about this prize: what if a married man had won it? Or even a young girl, I know some of them enjoy playing these games too?
'It is totally the wrong idea for a prize.'

'We discussed it with the organisers earlier that the winner might be underage.

'I will travel to Moscow and then the boy will decide,' she said.
'We will negotiate it with his mother too if he can live in a hotel with me, or fly with me somewhere.
Although Ruslan's mother is quoted saying the boy is 16, an official database lists him as being aged 14. The age of consent in Russia is 16
Asked if the prize meant having sex with the winner, she said: 'It is not supposed, but life is life.
'It is a usual thing when inexperienced boys are looking for more experienced girlfriends. I don't know. At least we'll be friends. I liked him in the photographs.'
She added: 'If he is not comfortable about a hotel, he can stay at home. He has to decide.'
Although his mother is quoted saying the boy is 16, an official database lists him as being aged 14. The age of consent in Russia is 16.

While her name may not be as well known as the aforementioned, Qi featured in a very big movie with a certain Jason Statham - yes, in The Transporter. Her former co-star from The Transporter, Jason Statham, may be intrigued to check out her previous work had he known about Qi's past. If he's reading this, and it's safe to say he is, the two aforementioned films should be available somewhere. I can't imagine money being an issue with the Hollywood star, so ordering a copy won't break the bank. Preferably, could you buy two as well please?
