Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economic Development Kochkarov Jamshid Anvarovich held an open roundtable to share the proposals of farms, exporters and farmers' markets for the uninterrupted supply of fruits and vegetables to the domestic market.

The event was also attended by representatives of the Central Bank, state committees - tax, customs and statistics, and other representatives.

The roundtable was held in the form of open dialogue, in which participants expressed their views on some of the existing problems in the process of cultivation, storage, and sale of fruits, vegetables, and meat products and their solutions.

Especially today, the issue of onions, which has caused a number of discussions due to falling prices, was discussed.

Over the past 3 years, the volume of onion exports has increased sharply by 7.6 times, from 28.6 thousand tons in 2012 to 216.2 thousand tons in 2020.

However, onion exports remain low relative to the volume of its production, including exports in 2020, which accounted for 17.2% of grown onions.

However, in January-May of this year, 124.8 thousand tons of onions were exported, which is 82.2% less than the same period last year, or 27.1 thousand tons less.

It was noted that the main problem in ensuring the sustainable supply of domestic and foreign markets with fruits, vegetables, and meat products is the lack of online information exchange between producers and buyers.

Proposals were also made to create and implement a new system to maintain a balance between supply and demand in the domestic consumer market, to keep producers and consumers informed of the prices that are formed on a daily basis in wholesale markets.

Within a month based on the proposals:

develop, as an experiment, software for the capital joint-stock companies "Tashkent wholesale market for agricultural products" and "Eski Juva Market", which will indicate the type, quantity and region of origin of fruits, vegetables and meat products arriving there daily, the lowest and highest prices;

organize the permanent publication in the media of information collected using this software;

A regular briefing will be held at the State Statistics Committee on the rise in prices for fruits, vegetables and meat products and the factors that affect it.
