My kids love it, which is all that really matters. Like most nerf guns, it does jam somewhat frequently, although I think that has more to do with my boys being rough with it, ya know, boys. They, especially one of them, wants to, ummm, cock it back? Ya know, pull the lever that loads the next shot. (Never said I was an expert). Anyways he wants to do it so fast over and over that it's not surprising how often it jams, really. Same story with every nerf gun we own (and trust me, we own plenty. If the zombie apocalypse can be fought with freaking nerf bullets, then we win. I got a basement, some canned vegetables, some bottle water, and like twenty thousand nerf guns, as well as about 3 million nerf bullets, most of which hide under the couch and other random places, never have enough when we have a nerf war, but at any other given moment, turn 0.3 degrees anywhere in my house and you'll be accosted by a plethora of nerf bullets. OK, enough with ALL that already, huh?) So, my boys are 8, they're nerf affeciandos, as well as addicts, and, ya know, eight! They love this gun. I would not recommend it for the adults that like nerf guns, I think it's a bit weak for all that kind of play. (And if for some reason you're new to the whole nerf gun thing, yeah, the adult stuff IS a thing, but this gun, I don't think it's for that, unless it's gonna be another random gun, but definetly not a lead). But for kids, this is good, I'm pretty happy with it. I did take off one star for the jamming, but I kinda still blame that on my kids fast action trigger happy behavior. It would be nice if it held more shots, but, ya can't have everything. Also, I want to reiterate this, I just don't think this is much of an addition to the adult nerf lovers arsenal, it's good for kids though. But I really do like it for the kids, and they seem to approve. Plus, not expensive! worth the purchase.

UPDATE: Well, I really loved this thing and had put 5 stars on it until I tried the blue elite darts. Most of them fall out when pumping gun. Works fine with the white darts, pretty good with the green, but the blue will just not stay seated. Pumping causes them to pop half way out so they do not shoot. And today I noticed more green darts doing that as well. Maybe I got a lemon and need to contact Nerf. Sometimes you can get a really bad Nerf gun and just need to exchange it. I am a grown man but my son is really into Nerf so I have to get some for myself to have Nerf wars with him. This is one I picked and I really like it. I didn't think I would like it as much as I do, I got it intended to use as a backup, but now it is one of my main carries. In the picture and videos it looked interesting and I liked that it shot 2 darts at a time, (you can shoot just one dart, but it takes practice, and is hard to do while under fire) but it just seems way better now that I have it. It just feels good to shoot for some reason. Maybe the size fits me better ? Maybe because the cocking hammer is on bottom and easy to use. Maybe because it is like a short shotgun, bigger than a pistol, shorter than a rifle, 8 darts, lots of heft, and easy to shoot. Probably a combination of all those things. But don't buy one when they jack the price up. Check Hasbro recommended retail and pay under that, I hate how sometimes the price more than doubles on Amazon sometimes.

Appearance: The paint on it was not very clean which is strange to me because it is a New product. But the smooth look and wide top is awesome looking. It also is unique because it has two plunger and spring systems. Very cool. Size: A bit bigger than I thought but small enough to make a special holster for which is awesome. Fire Rate: Slam fire makes a great touch. It will shot as fast as you pump it and reload it! Very unique that it shoots two bullets at once which is really cool! Accuracy: Not as good as the Strongarm, it flys all over the place but it is more powerful than the strongarm for sure. It even shots 2 darts so if one gets hit my wind the other has a chance to hit the target. Feel: The grip, handle, and trigger is actually an amazing feel. It fits perfectly and has no ridges or anything. Over all I love this gun so much I might buy another! I only gave it 4 stars because of the accuracy is so bad and the paint job almost looks like it was used. Otherwise it is a grade B+ item in my opinion.

Why the purchase? Well, our boss lady had us read the book called "Fish!" Yeah, it's an old book, and has been around a long time. It's a story on how one business uses techniques from a propering/thriving business that has co-workers that are working as a family/team. They throw fish, literally, as a means to have fun while at work. Well, that triggered a few of us, without discussing it, to commonly purchase Nerf guns. Heck, yeah!!! This will surely bring about some in-office fun!!! The item itself: As described, it does everything it says it will. Single shot, dual shot, and a four-way shot, all in how you press the trigger and use the compression slider. Half trigger fires off one rocket. Full trigger squeeze fires off two. One compression slide down, hold the trigger, and slide compression chamber up, fires off 4 Nerf rockets. Kid at heart: Hey, you don't have to be pre-teen to own one of these. I'm 44, and I tell you what, I will be having some fun with this as I target others with it in my office, while being targeted by them. Safe fun is what it's all about. This purchase will satisfy that request.

because the gun doesn't feature any rotating parts, this shotgun is one of the few classic Nerf guns that doesn't jam. (Ihaven't tried the more powerful nerf zoom rival) . As the bullets get old they bend/crease and you can either replace them, or stick to the guns that have a wider range or tolerance. bent bullets get stuck in the rotating guns and also in the magazines of the other guns.

Our kids are getting older and moving away from "toys", however, NERF knows no age limits. As part of our enormous NERF collection this blaster is great. Multi-shot, but not too time consuming to load. Powerful - will put a "sting" in your opponent. Durable, well balanced and accurate. Fun toy for any age.

The dimensions of a rough cut 2×4 are the length, width, and thickness of the piece of lumber.
A rough cut 4×4 lumber is generally 3.5 to 4 inches thick.
There is no such thing as a “standard lumber size.” The size of lumber is determined by the width of the tree it came from.
As the dimensions of a 2×4 can vary slightly depending on the sawmill or lumber company. However, it is generally agreed that the dimensions of a 2×4 should be 1-1/2 inches by 3-1/2 inches.
Nominal lumber is lumber that is named for its dimensions before it has been planed smooth. Rough lumber is lumber that has not been planed smooth.
Most lumber used for framing is 2-by-4 or 2-by-6.
Deck boards are typically made from 5/4 lumber. This simply means that the lumber is 5/4 of an inch thick, or 1-1/4 inches.
Roughness is a measure of the deviations of a surface from being perfectly flat. These deviations may be very small, such as those that occur due to machining tolerances, or they may be very large, such as those that occur due to erosion. The average roughness of a surface is usually quantified by its surface roughness average (SRA) or root mean square (RMS) roughness.
Rough cut lumber is supposed to be 1″ thicker and 2″ wider than the finished lumber size. So, a 2×4 is really a 1 1/2″ x 3 1/2″
A 4×4 board is a piece of wood that is four feet long and four feet wide.
A 4×6 piece of wood is 1 1/2 inches thick.
4×6 refers to a piece of wood that is 4 feet wide and 6 feet long.
Rough sawn lumber is generally cheaper than other types of lumber because it is less labor intensive to produce.
A board foot is equal to a piece of lumber that is one foot long, one foot wide, and one inch thick. To calculate board feet in rough cut lumber, you need to know the dimensions of the lumber in inches. For example, if the lumber is 2 feet long, 4 feet wide, and 1 inch thick, the board feet would be 8.

Here's everything you need to know about 2x4 lumber! What are the actual dimensions of a 2x4, the best saw to cut 2 by 4 wood, what screws to use in a 2x4 and project ideas to get you started!
2x4 studs are one of the cheapest and easiest sources of lumber for beginning woodworkers. But if you've never built anything before, there's a lot to learn! In this guide, I'll answer all your questions about the humble 2x4 and help you get started on your next project!
Believe it or not, a 2x4 board does NOT measure 2" x 4"! The actual dimensions of a 2x4 are 1 ½" thick and 3 ½" wide. What?!? Why is a 2x4 not 2" x 4"?
2x4 lumber is made from a variety of softwood species. Back in the day, each mill cut down their logs into boards that were roughly 2" x 4" (the nominal size) but the surfacing and drying process was different at each location, resulting in an assortment of actual finished sizes.
Over time, the size of a 2x4 shrunk in order to compete with other building materials. Mills were trying to get more boards out of a single log, and charge the same price. Eventually, the actual size of a 2x4 was standardized at 1 ½" x 3 ½" to keep the dimensions consistent throughout the industry.
2x4 studs are typically 8 feet long, to match the standard length of a sheet of plywood or drywall. You can also find 2x4 studs that are 92 ⅝" long, which allows builders to account for the thickness of the boards that run along the top and bottom of the wall.
Pay attention to the lengths listed on the lumber bin when buying 2x4s for a project! My woodworking plans always call for 96" long boards, and grabbing the wrong size may mean an extra trip to the store for more supplies!
In addition to the standard 8 foot length, you can also find 2x4 boards in 10, 12, 14 or even 16 foot sizes. But these are almost impossible to transport home in my car, so I stick with what fits in my small SUV!
Venturing into a lumber yard or the lumber section of the home improvement store for the first time can be daunting! There are so many stacks to choose from! Just grab a lumber cart and wander until you've found the 2x4s you're looking for.
When you finally find the pile of 2x4s, you'll probably see a bunch of cracked and damaged boards right on top. These bins get picked through all the time, and the worst ones are left behind. Don't grab boards right off the top!
Dig down or back a few layers until you see all the tightly packed 2x4s all neatly arranged in stacks. These are the boards that haven't been picked over, and there's bound to be some great ones in there! Sometimes there will be a band around a new shipment of lumber, and I'll use my car keys to cut the band and pull out all the good stuff.
Set aside any 2x4 lumber without cracks, missing chunks and deep scratches. I'm usually pretty picky and will avoid as many knots as possible to save myself some work later on.
2x4 lumber is cut and milled quickly, and usually isn't given a lot of time to dry. As a result, the boards you find at the store can be cupped and bowed. This isn't a deal-breaker in construction, but a straight board is absolutely necessary for building furniture!
Take a quick look at each board you picked out. Set one end down on the floor, and bring the other end up to your eye. Sight down the length of the 2x4 to see if it's straight. You can usually tell right away if it's curving off to the side. I've seen some that would make a great canoe! 😉
You should also look at the ends to see if the corners are 90 degrees and straight. If it's shaped like a potato chip, it's cupping! This is more common in wider boards, but it doesn't hurt to check.
Once you have the best 2x4 lumber picked out, you can get it cut down into shorter lengths at the store to make it easier to get it home. It can be tricky to fit 8 foot boards into a compact car, and not everyone has seats that fold completely flat like this! 😉
You can use pretty much any saw to cut a 2x4, but some will do a better job than others. First, let's talk about the two different types of cuts you can make.
A cross cut severs the fibers across the grain, making the 2x4 board shorter. This is the most common type of cut, and can be made with most saws.
A rip cut slices down the length of the board with the grain. This makes a thinner board, and is commonly used to take off the rounded corners of standard 2x4 lumber. It's difficult to make a rip cut with anything other than a table saw, although it's possible to do it with a circular saw with the right support.
If you want to cut a 2x4 without power tools, try a miter box with a hand saw. The slots in the box will help guide the saw to create a straight cut while you pull the teeth back and forth across the board. You can learn more about how to use a miter box here!
Most homeowners have a circular saw gathering dust in their garage (or if you're like me, you store it on this handy circular saw rack !)
It's pretty easy to make a straight cut across a 2x4 with a circular saw just by lining up the blade with the cut line. Holding a speed square next to the base plate will help guide the saw straight. You can also use a jigsaw to cut a 2x4 the same way!
But for the most precise cuts, I recommend making a circular saw jig that you can clamp to the board right where you want it. You can even make rip cuts with this type of jig, so long as the saw is supported properly and doesn't tip.
The easiest way to cut a 2x4 is with a miter saw. It can make straight cross cuts as well as angled cuts just by adjusting the blade. If you set up a stop block system , you can create a stack of identical 2x4 pieces in minutes!
The miter saw is perfect for making cross cuts, but it's not safe for making rip cuts. Your fingers will be way too close to the spinning blade for comfort. You can learn all about how to use a miter saw in this guide!
