Young Rosie Dixon starts her nurse training at St Adelaide's Hospital, but the student doctors and randy male patients just can't keep their hands off her.
There were nine Rosie Dixon novels, and this was intended to be the first of a series. However box-office receipts were poor, and the idea was abandoned.

As with the Confessions films, this is another of those movies from the dark days of British cinema that is perhaps best forgotten. Chances are you're only willing to watch because of the nudity. Well there's not much of that but there are a host of well known faces, many of whom have long since died. Films such as this obviously kept the wolf from the door but it's a sad fact that this was Arthur Askey's last film. To see him wheeling around as a lecherous, demented old man is heartbreaking. The main reasons to watch are to see a young Leslie Ash as the sister of the eponymous heroine and Patricia Hodge who no doubt cringes every time she sees the movie. The script must have taken all of 10 minutes to write, with not a trace of wit or originality to be seen or heard anywhere. Dixon's weedy boyfriend is a comic foil with one track mind who falls into a pond to raise an, er, titter. Yes, it really is that sophisticated. An 'erotic comedy' unique in the fact that it is neither erotic, nor funny.
Just be thankful it didn't spawn a host of sequels.

Rosie Dixon : Oh, not another one. What do you want? Aren't there any other girls in this hospital?
Dr.Seamus MacSweeney : Aha, not with your combination of beauty and sensitivity. To be in your presence is to glow.
Rosie Dixon : Well I'll make you a cup of coffee and then you can glow away.

Rosie Dixon – Night Nurse is a 1978 British comedy film directed by Justin Cartwright and starring Debbie Ash , Carolyne Argyle , Beryl Reid and John Le Mesurier . [2] It was based on a novel by Christopher Wood .

A new student nurse arrives at a hospital, attracting interest from the staff with comic consequences. The film was one of several softcore sex comedies released in the 1970s to cash in on the success of the Confessions series (also written by Wood under the pseudonym 'Timothy Lea'). Like the Confessions films it was adapted from a book, the author's credit going to the fictional Rosie herself. Nine Rosie Dixon novels were published, but only the first was adapted into a movie. The character of Penny Sutton – Rosie's best friend in the movie and in the books – was the star of an earlier series of similar novels that depicted Penny as an airline stewardess.

The film stars Debbie Ash , better known as one of the dance troupe Hot Gossip , along with her sister Leslie Ash (later a TV star in her own right) as Rosie's sister Natalie.
