Despite what I hoped, Lucasfilm buckled under the pressure of the hate for TLJ and decided to focus on pleasing the fans for Episode IX. Which included lowering Rose’s screen time.
Just as a note, I like Rise of Skywalker, but I acknowledge that the movie could have and should been much better.

No point giving the token character a lot of screen time if the audience its for can’t watch it, or decide they don’t want to.

Now there is nothing out there to show they aren't doing this. But, in a vacuum, it simply appears they are shooting blindly in the dark. Personally, I hope not. But we don't have ANY information to say they are nor to say they aren't.
There is no requirement that they open the kimono. Thus I ask again, what franchise does do this? Marvel doesnt. No one does. Why should LFL with Star Wars?
I didn't say they should. But from what they've done so far it looks NOTHING like the plan Marvel has/had in place. One MCU film leads into another. There is cohesion there. The films fit together if they come (in the time line) one after the other. And they rarely (never until the new Captain Marvel film) jump around in the time line. So far, film wise, we have what 35 ABY, -1 ABY, 35.1 ABY, -10 ABY, and i'm assuming 36 ABY? Kind of all over the place. None of the films have led into the other or helped flesh out the others (by that I'm talking about the "Story" films).

Again, I'm not saying they need to lay their plan out in public. Not at all. But one would think the plan would start to become obvious at this point, especially as they were the ones who essentially said they wanted Star Wars to do what the MCU was doing.

Here's another bit... The next novel by Claudia Grey is on Obi-Wan and Qui Gon, both of whom I love. But my question: Why? Why them and why now? It's spring 2019 and we are heading into IX. Why not have books that flesh out, oh I don't, the Knights of Ren or the Acolytes of the Beyond (assuming they aren't the same thing)... We last heard of the AOTB way back in the aftermath trilogy and that ended in 2016? I'm assuming both of these groups are important, as the latter seemed EXTREMELY important in the Aftermath Trilogy. But we get this tid bit of info and then nothing. Why? Is that a part of plan?
Quite simple really. TLJ took place immediately after TFA so you have the we dont have a time period to explore. Also you dont want to give away the story of EP9 by providing 2 much information between EP8 and EP9, yet they have done some of that with Comics and it appears likely with Resistance Animated show.

Will also add as much as people want to give MCU pat on the back, how many of the MCU films have experiences with the characters where you say. Hmm wouldnt it have been much easier for character X if the other Avengers participated. Why if potentially catastrophic events happening on Earth only did other Avengers come to help?

Honestly this should be taken to the plan thread. My original was about the negative reaction that brainstorming occurred.
I don't think saturation/fatigue is much of a problem with Star Wars. As long as 'they' keep making interesting stories (and not just villain of the week like, IMHO, the marvel movies tend to be), then multiple shows in the SW universe would work fine.
Just started watching "Rule of Two" from Collider and withing 10 minutes I had to turn it off. The reason is an issue for the Star Wars fandom, they started going all negative that Disney has no direction for Star Wars and these rumors are proof. It probably means Ep9 will just ignore Ep8 really happened, etc. etc. I mean come on in a creative enterprise like Disney/LFL people likely are encouraged to brainstorm ideas. I am certain many of these have been suggested by someone and then some say not a bad idea, some say are you kidding me, etc. etc. Then some move forward and some are never heard from again.

Somehow somewhere it became "Star Wars has no direction, no planning" if LFL doesnt share with the fans super early what they are thinking about. I asked in another thread what other franchise does what the "No plan" people say that Disney/LFL is doing with Star Wars.
Why don't make an Anthology tv show with different seasons instead, like True Detective or Fargo? 10 episodes for season and don't get bored with long shows.

EDIT: Now if they had Napzok as the full time host every week, I would much more likely to tune in.
Napzok is great and he's really the only reason to watch the Council now.

Just a couple of notes here:

-There have been only four new Star Wars, and half of those have been spinoffs. I'm not sure that's a comparable data set yet.

-I'm not sure it's fair to say there's no cohesion. Say what you want about TFA and TLJ, but the movies practically work as a single viewing experience. Even with the standalones, TLJ has some links to Solo that I thought worked pretty well.

- Marvel has definitely jumped around in the timeline a bit more than that. It's been close, but GOTG 2 happens way before a lot of movies that came before it, Ant Man+Wasp and Infinity War should be switched, and obviously the bulk of Captain America: The First Avenger occurs earlier in Phase One than the other movies.
if they make Star Wars shows that last only a single season
I want a Rose Tico show just to watch all the haters explode.
BTW, if you just look at how alive is the resistance threads there ( I mean the show ) which has barely 3 pages of posts for one season it just means that people are not watching it
I gave up on Disney shows but I don't watch it. I tried resistance, thought it wasn't good, stopped watching it.

...or the target audience isn't old enough to talk about this on the internet/on hardcore fan platforms yet...?

It'd definitely a rough start but it does improve, I can attest to that. Just out of curiosity, did you watch Rebels?
Also, what if the Rose Tico show is real, and it's GREAT? Will you try it then?

I kinda hope it's because Claudia wanted it and Disney said "go for it." She's been nothing but a boon for the book side of the story so far, so giving her the opportunity to tell the story she wants might be a part of that deal. As for KoR or AotB groups, I assume because they want to wait until JJ finishes the story he wants to tell and then they'll let the authors fill in the gap however they want. AotB I'm more cynical about, given how much of the early New EU mysteries were really just red herrings.

I HEARD THERE WERE SUPERHERO QUESTIONS! FEAR NOT, FOR I AM HERE!
...anyways, the only time that this question really comes into play is for Thor: The Dark World . In Iron Man 3, Tony's being targeted by terrorists and most likely doesn't know how to reach anyone. In Captain America: The Winter Soldier , Tony's officially a civilian and has no suits to boot, Hawkeye's MIA (either off on his farm, which Wanda's not gonna risk without his permission or on a mission), Thor's off doing Thor things, and the Hulk is the nuclear option - NO ONE wants to use him. Also, they're being chased so reaching out is not a good choice. Also Also, most of these movies happen within a 2-3 day time-span.

After that, they're all teaming up in Age of Ultron until Captain America: Civil War . Ant-Man explicitly doesn't want the Avengers to know about his tech, so that's why there.

...yeah, I just really like superheroes and wanted to step in...

upon rewatching TFA and TLJ mostly back-to-back, I found that they do connect, but not in the way I really like. Maybe it's due to the pacing or just the lack of timeskip, but TLJ to me feels a lot like Star Wars Episode VII Part 2 if that make sense. Like together TFA and TLJ make up one story, but it makes me feel like we need a whole extra movie to really complete the trilogy. Either way, that's neither here nor there.
The connections to Solo are really fun though.
1. I liked Rebels from the start, strangely enough. I realized it was "for kids" but I just liked the characters. I can't say the same for Resistance. I have to say I was actually interested in that show, but after I don't know, 3-4 episodes I could not watch it anymore. I might try and pick it up again in the summer, but as of now, it just doesn't do it for me. And that is okay. I'm not going to like every thing with the Star Wars label on it.
2. I like Claudia Grey, at least what I've read (only read Bloodlines ). And I'm actually quite excited by the idea of a book about Obi-Wan and Qui Gon Jinn. But again the bouncing around I think releasing "on off" books is cool, but I really expected more synergy with the ending of the old EU and the creation of the New EU. And you hit on a worry for me: the idea that they just threw out a bunch of red herrings.
What worries me even more is the idea of doing a bunch of different series based on a character. I like the idea of a series like "The Mandalorian." I even like the idea of an Obi-Wan mini series and a Cassian Andor series (although I hope it's more of a Rebel Spies series and they are just calling it Cassian now as a form of short hand and because he will be the main character). But then you get the "Darth Bane" series... Young Lando series... Young Leia series and a Rose Tico series? I realize what is probably happening is this is the brainstorming and, like HBO "developing" up to 5 follow ups for Game of Thrones, only one or two will ever see the light of day. But I hope we aren't going to get a ton of shows based on one character.
1. The Mandalorian (obviously). Is it a one season series or will it be done over multiple seasons?
3. Rebel Spies. Cold War style spy drama featuring Cassian Andor and other rebel spies in the years prior to the Battle of Yavin. Could even tie in to and follow up on some of the stuff from Solo.
4. The Sith and the Rule of Two. Featuring Darth Bane.
5. A long series delving into the formation of the Jedi. All new characters, set way back in time.
