Way to embrace a new year, Rosario Dawson.
The actress and activist, who turned 40 on May 9, took to Instagram on Saturday with a sultry selfie video to enjoy some time in the sun, with the soundtrack of birds chirping in the background.
“Here’s lookin’ at you 4D. Cheers…!” she wrote, along with the hashtag “#BlissMore.”
Dawson, who made the age milestone on Thursday, showed off her flawless complexion with the makeup- and shirt-free post, which she may owe in part to her skincare regimen: drinking clay.
“I’ve been starting to drink clay lately,” Dawson told The Cut in April. “There’s really good, fine, food-grade clay that helps to clean out your system and rid you of parasites. I’m very natural about stuff, so it’s clays and vitamins in my skin care, too.” she said.
She also told the site that she’s trying to multi-task during her nighttime routine, going for “the meditation-face mask-bath at once.”
The “Rent” star also posted another snap and a video of adorable childhood photos to celebrate her birthday. However, there’s been no social media well-wishes from boyfriend and presidential candidate Cory Booker on social media.

'Krystal' Trailer: Rosario Dawson Plays a Stripper Who Turns Boys Into Men

Happy birthday to Rosario Dawson! Or should we say, "happy birthday suit?"
The 39-year-old actress and activist celebrated her birthday on Wednesday, posting a stunning photo and video of herself -- both au naturel -- on Instagram. And why not? The Jane the Virgin star looked stunning in the NSFW selfies as she reflected on what she described as her winning against gravity.
"Happy birthday suit to me... 39 & feelin’ fine," she wrote to accompany a playful Instagram video of herself mugging for her camera.
That was followed, two hours later, by a bare mirror selfie and the caption, "Reflections on not letting gravity bring me down..."
The last year hasn't necessarily been all roses for the talented actress. Her cousin, Vaneza, passed away in her home last May after suffering from chronic medical problems.
But Dawson was able to reconnect with her family in the wake of that death and developed a newfound outlook on life.
"Take advantage of every moment because tomorrow is not guaranteed, and you want to make sure the people that you love know that, and that you're doing things with your time that you're proud of, because it goes by so fast," she said in an interview with the BUILD Series at the time.
Dawson also lent her voice to the #MeToo and "Time's Up" movements, revealing in January that she too was a victim of sexual abuse . In an interview at the time, she described being raped and molested as a child.
“Now we’re in a place where it’s finally like, ‘No, we don’t have to keep passing this on. This is archaic and terrible and destructive. Let’s look at it,’” she said of Hollywood's response to abuse allegations in recent months. “It’s beautiful. I’m so ready for this moment.”

Dawson was born on May 9, 1979, in New York City. Her mother, Isabel Celeste, is of Afro-Cuban and Puerto Rican ancestry. Isabel was 16 or 17 years old when Rosario was born; she never married Rosario's biological father, Patrick C. Harris. [4] [5] When Rosario was a year old, her mother married Greg Dawson, a construction worker. [4] Isabel and Greg moved into a reclaimed building on 544 East 13th Street after being approved as members of an affordable housing plan. The family later moved to Texas . [6] [7]

As a child, Dawson made a brief appearance on Sesame Street . At the age of 15, she was discovered on her front-porch step by photographer Larry Clark and Harmony Korine , with Korine deciding that she was perfect for a part he had written in his screenplay for the controversial 1995 film Kids . She went on to star in varied roles, including independent films and blockbusters such as Rent , He Got Game , and Men in Black II . [8] [9] [10] [11] [12]

[15] She is also featured on the track "She Lives In My Lap" from the second disc of the OutKast album Speakerboxxx/The Love Below , [16] in which she speaks the introduction and a brief interlude towards the end.

In 2001, she appeared in the movie Josie and the Pussycats as band member Valerie Brown.

Dawson starred opposite Edward Norton in the Spike Lee drama 25th Hour (2002). In the 2004 Oliver Stone film Alexander , she played Roxana , the wife of Alexander the Great . In 2005, Dawson made her stage debut [17] as Julia in the Public Theater 's " Shakespeare in the Park " revival of Two Gentlemen of Verona . [18]

In the film adaptation of the popular musical Rent in 2005, she played the exotic dancer Mimi Marquez, replacing Daphne Rubin-Vega , who was pregnant and unable to play the part. For her role in Rent , Dawson won the Satellite Award for Best Supporting Actress – Motion Picture . She also appeared in the adaptation of the graphic novel Sin City , co-directed by Robert Rodrigu
