'Krystal' Trailer: Rosario Dawson Plays a Stripper Who Turns Boys Into Men

Happy birthday to Rosario Dawson! Or should we say, "happy birthday suit?"
The 39-year-old actress and activist celebrated her birthday on Wednesday, posting a stunning photo and video of herself -- both au naturel -- on Instagram. And why not? The Jane the Virgin star looked stunning in the NSFW selfies as she reflected on what she described as her winning against gravity.
"Happy birthday suit to me... 39 & feelin’ fine," she wrote to accompany a playful Instagram video of herself mugging for her camera.
That was followed, two hours later, by a bare mirror selfie and the caption, "Reflections on not letting gravity bring me down..."
The last year hasn't necessarily been all roses for the talented actress. Her cousin, Vaneza, passed away in her home last May after suffering from chronic medical problems.
But Dawson was able to reconnect with her family in the wake of that death and developed a newfound outlook on life.
"Take advantage of every moment because tomorrow is not guaranteed, and you want to make sure the people that you love know that, and that you're doing things with your time that you're proud of, because it goes by so fast," she said in an interview with the BUILD Series at the time.
Dawson also lent her voice to the #MeToo and "Time's Up" movements, revealing in January that she too was a victim of sexual abuse . In an interview at the time, she described being raped and molested as a child.
“Now we’re in a place where it’s finally like, ‘No, we don’t have to keep passing this on. This is archaic and terrible and destructive. Let’s look at it,’” she said of Hollywood's response to abuse allegations in recent months. “It’s beautiful. I’m so ready for this moment.”

Rosario Dawson has starred in major films and TV shows and has recently been romantically linked to 2020 presidential candidate Sen. Cory Booker , D-N.J.
The native New Yorker celebrated turning 40 last week by posting a topless video on Instagram Saturday.
No text accompanied the post, which appeared to have been recorded somewhere warm. But it attracted plenty of positive comments from fans and was viewed nearly 200,000 times by early Sunday.
Booker confirmed the pair were dating in March while at a campaign stop in New Hampshire.
“I am dating Rosario Dawson and I’m very happy about it,” Booker told reporters at the time. “She’s a wonderful actor.”
A day earlier, Dawson spoke highly of Booker in a conversation with TMZ.
“He’s a wonderful human being,” Dawson said. “It’s good to spend some time together when we can. Very busy.
“I am just grateful to be with someone that I respect and love and admire so much who is so brilliant and kind and caring and loving.”

In a new AT&T Wireless commercial, the iconic Lily (also known as actress Milana Vayntrub ) was notably missing, but we were greeted with another familiar face, instead: Rosario Dawson !
In the commercial, a customer is greeted by none other than 42-year-old actress Rosario Dawson, who is known best for her roles in The Mandalorian , Rent, Sin City, and Death Proof.

She interrupts his short (and yet unclear) inquiry with a bevy of questions, including the oft-memed statement “Hello, we’ve been trying to reach you about your car’s extended warranty.”
The customer, of course, is confused, but Dawson reveals that she is merely “dramatizing” spam calls, advertising AT&T’s anti-spam software. “We can’t all be that charming,” the actress notes, pointing at a television screen that shows Lily, the usual AT&T spokeswoman, having a blast at a sports game.
As excited as fans were to see Rosario Dawson, some consumers were confused as to why Milana Vayntrub, also known as Lily, only made a small cameo appearance in the commercial. However, Vayntrub has said that she has gotten some less-than-stellar attention from the commercials, which she directs herself.

“Been getting a lot of “why are they placing her body like that in those ads?” Well, I direct the ads. I place myself like that,” Vayntrub tweeted after fans questioned why the actress’ body was mostly concealed by a counter in a recent commercial.
“And it’s because of the thousands of unwelcome comments I receive about my body. You’ve lost the privilege of looking at it until I feel safe again.”
Considering that AT&T Wireless has had to disable the YouTube comments on many of their commercials featuring Vayntrub due to these vile, objectifying comments, we don’t blame the actress for wanting to take a step away from being Lily for a bit. We hope Rosario Dawson doesn’t receive the same treatment!
Rosario Dawson flaunts her legs at a photocall for her film Captives at the 67th Annual Cannes Film Festival in Cannes, France, on May 16, 2014 (Credit: WENN)
With the Cannes Film Festival in full swing, in May 2014 we were seeing a myriad of noteworthy looks, but none was quite like the ensemble Rosario Dawson offered.
At a photocall for the 1994 British romantic crime drama film Captives, Cory Booker’s girlfriend showed up in a dress and heels combo that was definitely designed to turn heads.

In one simple outfit, Rosario mixed two bold, outspoken prints that somehow didn’t clash horribly. Her Sportmax peplum dress with a colorful paint splatter print was complemented by Bionda Castana’s “Daphne Bis” harlequin printed pumps — sounds insane, right?
But it worked! Rosario looked nothing short of fabulous, and to top it all off, she debuted a fresh undercut. We applaud her ability to make a statement without appearing gaudy.

Would you dare to mimic Rosario’s fearless style? If yes, try a pair of Bionda Castana’s “Daphne Bis” in a funky dalmatian- or leopard-print variation, as seen on Sophia Bush and Kate Mara .

Rosario Dawson has opened up about her own experience with sexual assault.
During an appearance on the podcast Morado Lens, the actress revealed that she was raped and molested as a child. Discussing sexual harassment in Hollywood and the workplace, Dawson told hosts Cindy Rodriguez and Nathalie Farfan, “I was raped and molested as a child, so for me, the world was like that since I was a child. When I saw it in the workplace, it wasn’t foreign to me. It was like, well, that even happens within [families]. It happens with people that are supposed to take care of you when you’re a child.”
Dawson’s revelation comes at a time when sexual harassment and assault are being openly discussed in Hollywood following allegations against powerful men like Harvey Weinstein and Russell Simmons.
In an op-ed for The New York Times last year, actress Lupita Nyong’o came forward accusing Weinstein of sexual harassment. In November, Simmons was also accused of sexual assault , stepping down from his companies shortly after the allegations were made public.
Dawson also opened up about losing her 26-year-old cousin, Vaneza Ines Vazquez, reflecting on how that death and the loss of her grandmother made her think about life.
“…If I had died at 26 [like Vasquez] it was a good life,” she said. However, Dawson explained that despite having lived a “good life,” she still seeks resolve. “Whenever my moment comes I want to know I lived a good life. I don’t want to just be marinating in the upset because I have a lot of trauma and sadness to dwell on if I want to, but there’s so much to be grateful for and I don’t want to waste my time not being dedicated to that.”
