Jeremy, whose legal last name is Hyatt, is accused of sexually assaulting the women over a 23-year span between 1996 and 2019, according to the district attorney's office. The victims range in age from 15 to 51.
Jeremy pleaded not guilty to 12 counts of forcible rape, seven counts of forcible oral copulation, six counts of sexual battery by restraint, four counts of sexual penetration by a foreign object, two counts of sexual penetration of an unconscious or asleep person and one count each of lewd act upon a child under the age of 14 or 15, sodomy by use of force and assault with intent to commit rape, the district attorney's office said.
"His position is the same (as) when the criminal complaint was filed," Jeremy's attorney, Stuart Goldfarb, said in a statement to CNN. "He is innocent of all charges."
A grand jury returned the indictment August 19 and it was unsealed Wednesday. It comes nearly a year after Jeremy was charged with more than 30 counts of sexual assault.
Jeremy's case was presented to a grand jury to avoid a public preliminary hearing where witnesses would have to testify in open court, similar to the case of media mogul Harvey Weinstein .
"Far too often, survivors of sexual assault suffer in isolation," Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón said in a statement. "We must ensure that survivors have all options available to help with recovery, including trauma-informed services for healing and support to report such crimes."
According to online jail records, Jeremy remains at the Twin Towers Correction Facility in Los Angeles with a bond of $6.6 million.
Jeremy, 68, is expected to return to court October 12 for a pretrial conference.
Jeremy is considered one of the icons of the adult entertainment industry. He was the subject of the 2001 documentary "Porn Star: The Legend of Ron Jeremy."

(CNN) Porn star Ron Jeremy has been indicted on more than 30 counts of sexual assault involving 21 women over the past two decades, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office announced Wednesday.

TIME: How did you get your start in the porn industry?

Ron Jeremy: Like many Jewish boys, I was working up in the Catskills, as a waiter and the maitre d' at the Paramount Hotel. I was doing theater, and it was a very difficult situation, especially in New York, where you couldn't be an extra unless you were part of the Screen Actors Guild. I was making no money. We agreed — my girlfriend Alice and I — to take some pictures in the deluxe wing of the Paramount. We knew women could do Playboy and that might lead to a career in theater, film. I thought I would try it out and at least get some kind of exposure, pardon the pun. So my girlfriend took the photographs and sent them to Playgirl . I thought maybe they would agree to bring me to L.A. for a layout, and while I'm in L.A. I'll try to get some work in Hollywood. Then Playgirl called and they said we have good news and bad news. The bad news is they weren't going to fly me anywhere. The good news is that they were going to use the pictures we had taken. ( See pictures of Pinup Queen Bettie Page. )
How did the public respond to the photos?

I had used my real name: Ron Hyatt, from Queens, New York; likes to go hang gliding and sailing when he gets the chance, and working on his master's degree in special education. A lot of people looked up R. Hyatt in Queens, New York, but they were getting my grandmother, Rose Hyatt, who lived downstairs. My poor grandmother was being woken up night and day, mostly by guys. Playgirl likes to think that their audience is mostly women, but no, no, the majority is gay. My poor grandma had to move. Then my dad sat me down and said, "I don't know what cockamamie business you are getting into. You want to do something, fine, you're an adult, but don't you ever use the family name again." So I used my middle name, which is Jeremy.
What was your path to the porn industry?

I quit teaching because I was making no money. After Playgirl I went to see a filmmaker I knew. Joe said he only did adult movies, so I said that's kind of sleazy. Then I did theater for a few months and starved. So I went back to Joe and thought, it's not so bad. I asked my family what they thought and they said, [we] aren't crazy about the idea but if you really want to do this go ahead, if you think it may be a shortcut to the mainstream. So Joe put me in my first adult film, Tigresses and Other Man-eaters . I spent an hour in makeup and they never once saw my face.
Were you embarrassed during the filming?

Yes, a little. There were some professionals there who had done it for a while. I wasn't getting the liftoff as quickly as they did. It was embarrassing. It's funny because now, years later when I am not taking Viagra and the other guy does, I am still slow to the punch. I am the slow man on the totem pole. It was embarrassing because I was not used to being nude and having sex in a room full of people.
Were your friends shocked that you were doing this?

The funniest dialogue came from the Catskills, where I had been working as a waiter for so many years of my life. They had this thing called "Bungalow Bunnies," where the women would stay up in the Catskills and their husbands would leave to work. They didn't really care if their wives were messing around because they were doing the same thing with their secretaries back in Manhattan. We were up in the Catskills, and I had a very good sex life, to the point where when I was once late to dinner and told the maitre d' I was with a girl. He said, and I remember his exact words, "Anybody else I would forgive but with you it's like brushing your teeth. You're late; you're being docked pay." So when they heard, Ron's doing porn, they said, "That's not a big shock, is it?"

A SICK video allegedly showing shamed porn star Ron Jeremy having sex with an 87-year-old woman, who appears to be lack the ability to consent, is being reviewed by investigators in Los Angeles.
The video has been sent to the Los Angeles District Attorney's office by a former porn star turned private investigator Paul Barresi.
Although Jeremy's face cannot be seen in the footage, Barresi, who used to work with the veteran adult star, says he has positively ID'd him using distinctive marks on his body - as well as his voice.
The woman in the video states she was born in 1910 and is 87, suggesting the video was made in the late 90s. She appears confused and uncomfortable throughout.
It comes after Jeremy, 67, was arrested on Tuesday and charged with raping three women and assaulting another. He has denied all charges.
Barresi told The Sun he already sent the video to the FBI in 2014 - and believes some of Jeremy's alleged victims may have been spared if they had acted on the evidence.
He said: "Had FBI acted on the complaint and videotape evidence myself and fellow PI Salvatore Grasso provided them in 2014 of Jeremy sexually defiling and debasing a very old woman in her late 80's, perhaps so many of his victims might have been spared.
"Video evidence was provided to FBI in 2014 and recently provided to LAPD detectives as evident in my e-mail.
"What person in their right mind would have sex with an old, old, old woman, other than someone who has no conscience - someone who has become so jaded over the many decades in porn, irrespective of age, he sees all women as objects.
"Objects with whom and to whom he feels he has a right to do with as he pleases.
"Jeremy used power and control to manipulate the old woman. He mocks the old lady, and she appears to not even know it, thereby raising question as to her cognitive ability.
"Investigators will have to look into this abuse. What were the circumstances leading up to the old woman consenting to engage in sexual acts on film with Jeremy? Who arranged this? Who set it up and where?"
The Los Angeles District Attorney's office declined to comment when approached about the video by The Sun, but emails shared with The Sun confirm they are reviewing the footage.
A spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department responded: “I can confirm our investigators continue to receive additional information from a variety of sources and their investigation is ongoing.”
He is charged with three counts each of rape and forcible penetration by a foreign object, along with one count of forcible oral copulation and sexual battery.
The adult film actor, who appeared in Los Angeles County Court on Tuesday, maintained his innocence in a social media statement on Tuesday.
"I am innocent of all charges," Jeremy tweeted.
"I can’t wait to prove my innocence in court!
"Thank you to everyone for all the support," he added.
The accusations include that he allegedly forcibly raped a 25-year-old woman in a West Hollywood Home.
He is also alleged to have assaulted two women, ages 33 and 46, in separate incidents at a West Hollywood bar in 2017.
In another incident at the same bar, Hyatt is alleged to have forcibly raped a 30-year-old woman in 2019.
The Sun revealed how Ginger Banks, a porn star who first exposed a raft of sexual abuse allegations against Jeremy three years ago, has since spoken to 50 other alleged victims.
The Sun reached out to Jeremy's attorney for comment and the FBI.

Ron Jeremy accused of having sex with 87-year-old who "could not consent", raping several others
LOS ANGELES, CA – Ron Jeremy’s troubles show no signs of going away any time soon. Jeremy, an adult film star, appeared in a Los Angeles courtroom on Friday where he pleaded not guilty to charges of raping three women and sexually assaulting another.
Jeremy is now dealing with another troubling accusation. According to The Sun, Los Angeles investigators are looking at a video allegedly showing shamed porn star Ron Jeremy having sex with an 87-year-old woman, who appears to lack the ability to consent.

The video was brought to the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office by a former adult film star turned private investigator, Paul Barresi.
Despite not being able to see his face in the video, Barresi, who used to work with the veteran adult star, says he has recognized him using distinctive marks on his body – as well as his voice.

This stunning allegation comes as Jeremy faces separate sex related charges. Jeremy is accused of raping a 25-year-old woman at a home in West Hollywood in 2014. He is also accused of sexually assaulting two women, ages 33 and 46, on separate occasions at the same West Hollywood bar in 2017. The third charge against him is for allegedly raping a 30-year-old woman at that same bar in July 2019.
Los Angeles County sheriff’s detectives had been investigating Jeremy for two years and presented the case to prosecutors on Monday. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office also noted in a release from DA Jackie Lacey’s office that it declined a case that was reported to it based on an alleged 2016 incident due to insufficient evidence.

Jeremy, on Tuesday, claimed his innocence through social media, tweeting :
“I am innocent of all charges. I can’t wait to prove my innocence in court! Thank you to everyone for all the support.”
If convicted, Jeremy is looking at up to 90 years in prison.
Celebrities often find themselves accused of sexual assault. Some appear more guilty that others. Law Enforcement Today recently reported on an example of an accusation that is likely false.
As USA Today and People magazine reported, Justin Bieber was recently accused of sexual assault via Twitter. This past Saturday, a female named only Danielle took to Twitter to make a sexual assault allegation against pop singer Justin Bieber.
Danielle alleged that she met Bieber while attending an event in Texas and claimed that she and her friends were invited back to the pop star’s hotel where she was “sexually assaulted without consent.”

Danielle did not identify the friends and has not otherwise spoken publicly about the claim. There was no last name on the account and shortly after it was posted, both the tweet and the account were later removed by Twitter.
Bieber addressed the allegation through his own Twitter account Sunday night.

“In the past 24 hours a new Twitter appeared that told a story of myself involved with sexual abuse on March 9, 2014 in Austin Texas at the Four seasons hotel. I want to be clear. There is no truth to this story.”

Bieber didn’t stop there; he went on to provide screenshots of receipts and emails that he said would prove that these allegations are false.
He referenced one tweet that shows a woman tweeting he was in the Four Seasons, however he highlights the date and it was the day before the alleged incident occurred.

Bieber also encouraged the media to contact the Four Seasons themselves for confirmation that he was not there on either March 9 th or March 10 th , 2014.
“Every claim of sexual abuse should be taken very seriously and this is why my response was needed. However, this story is factually impossible and that is why I will be working with twitter and authorities to take legal action.”
All the steps taken by Bieber and his management team to get out ahead of this allegation regardless of its authenticity is commendable.

It’s a dangerous world we live in when someone can anonymously take to the internet and make claims that could potentially destroy someone’s reputation.
There used to be a system in place for this sort of thing. You would report criminal activity to the police, and they would investigate such allegations and take the appropriate action.
Now we simply hide behind social media and allow the court of public opinion to find you guilty or innocent.
