Needlessly stressful work environment. Typical meetings would become hostile and management would become combative. The owner with held pay for hours worked after I decided to end my employment there. The employee turnover rate was frequent. However, this environment did create a sense of comradeship among the workers. The worker culture can be summed up "friends through shared adversity".

Learned Tigerpaw software. Learned more about Peachtree Accounting Software. Prepared lunch for staff on a regular basis - bar-b-q's, ordering from business partners, etc.; learned bench work - assisted bench with analyzing problems with computers and running diagnostic software.

CEO was difficult to please. Too much concentration on dollars and cents rather than doing things properly up front to save those dollars in the not too distant future.

Like most start ups, the CEO or President naturally wants to play a large role in production and at Romeo Computer micromanaging is the name of the game. That aside, the work environment is outrageous. Romeo Computer is housed in a converted barn and often when you walk in smells like Racoon urine... It is not a surprise to hear a racoon or two in the walls as well. The pay is sub par, you must be contracted out for 90 days, and time off is a rarity. You are expected to work 9+ hours a day and then take it all home with you...which is why you get salary with no overtime.
