no way! over 1000 maybe only in bucharest.. only i know more than 10 persons who will open a studio now.. and many many more who have studios...
but here i think it is a whole diferent world comparing with other eastern countries..
In other cities here is hard to open a studio.. most are very small.. and u don't want anyone know what u are doing..right?
So why is Bucharest a different world? Well 1st of all.. because here... there is a good cooperation, collaboration between studios and performers mostly, and no fear what so ever..
most studio bosse have supported the girls when they went solo..
So There is respect between everybody... and that is what help all go further
Anyway ..please count again the number of studios from bucharest

Huh u must know that all fear entering the EU next year. The State knows for sure what's going on here...As u know October, most of the big studios are owned by policemen and other political figures. They will be ok with any new regulations. They will enforce a law in their own favor in my opinion. So then, how many small studios will remain? We can barely afford the rent and net bills now. Can u imagine a time when u have to pay tax and health insurrance, havestate of the art computers and stuff like that...?
Time will tell how this business develops here in Romania, but I think many of today's small studio owners will either continue to operate in clandestine illegality, or that over time, they will disappear because no one will work for them and they will get taken over by the big legal studios. In any case the number of studios here will be much lower in the years to come.
I am copying this list to this forum, so that people will have a chance to comment and to add information - something they can not do in the "Reading Room" where all information is posted as "read only" to block unwanted editorial changes - by hackers..lol

The studio network looks something like this - just to give us an idea of the global scope of this industry. These are our preliminary findings, the actual number of studios in operation remains uncertain. What is available in the public record are the names and addresses of the Custodian of Records that are legally responsible for checking that the studios have supplied proof that none of their models are under age 18. But the number of custodians may not actually correlate with the total number of studios they monitor.

Studios also can vary greatly in size.. Some of the larger studios like the ones that work exclusively for private feeds in Ostravz, Cz and Poprad, Sk may have as many as 70 employees each (admins, models and tech support). Poprad also has three additional studios operating in town with about 20 models each. The main downtown studio in Bratislava has about 30 employees but there are at least three other studios operating in different neighborhoods in that City. The studios in Russia or the Ukraine seem to be slightly smaller -with 60 models working in one of the St. Petersburg studios in five different locations; some 30 girls working in four different studio locations in Petrozavodsk in the Kareila Republic and maybe 10 to 20 models working on Secret Friends from Vladivostok. There are 40 to 50 models, techs, translators in one Odessa model agency that has two different studio locations, plus another 20 admins, models and translators in one studio in Kief. On the Whole the Romanian studios tend to be much smaller than this - with usually 5/6 models and sometimes less - but there are many more Romanian models working as freelancers from home than is the rule elsewhere in Eastern Europe. I have also heard of at least 5 Bucharest Mega-Studios, and one, The Lilla , that works exclusively for IFriends and that is reported to have as many as 400 models working for them. [/color]

Can someone tell me what the laws are in Romania (especially with regards to prostitution and pornography)... or maybe provide a link for me? It was mentioned that some of these studios are legal, and some are not? Im just a little unclear on the situation here.
Adult web-cam activity is not clearly stated anywhere in Romanian law. The studios conceal their actual activity, but are legal from a financial point of view. All money transfers are wired and taxes are paid. Models work under contracts. That's about all.
