Robots That Vacuum And Mop It's Not As Expensive As You Think
Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that vacuum and mop offer the convenience of cleaning both dry debris (dust, dirt) and wet mess (spills, staining) in one session without the need to change devices. They can also reduce space in comparison to two separate units, especially in smaller living areas.
A good combination bot must have impressive navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models that can automatically empty their bin and refill their water tank, and wash their mopping pads from an appropriate dock.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has plenty to offer for its modest price and is among the easiest robots we've tested to install. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and a quick-start guide will have you up and running with a clean, complete dust bag, hard floor solution and water tank in no time at all.
The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can mop and vacuum well. The mops spin at a high speed and utilize 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to quickly remove dirt, pet hair and sticky dried spills. The vacuum cleaner has four power settings, as well as a selection of brushes and attachments, and an intuitive app which lets you select the type of cleaning you'd like to do for each room.
You can, for example request the robot to clean the kitchen and the living room thoroughly, but leave the bedroom in its own space. The S1 Pro's front collision sensors and smart navigation tech are excellent too, with the robot being capable of detecting small obstacles that other models have difficulty overcoming. Its only drawback is that it can smash into walls and other objects at full speed - but a quick glance at the history of cleaning in the app will tell you exactly what it's doing as well as where it's heading and what obstacles it's run into or avoided.
A convenient LCD screen on the docking station shows you when maintenance tasks must be completed like emptying the debris tray and rinsing its dirty water tank. It's also able to mix detergent automatically into the water tank, with a 600ml bottle of eufy's own solution.
Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum come with a long-running time. The mop can run for 184 mins in Quiet Mode. remote hoover can run for 136 minutes in normal mode, before having to recharge or returning to the base. You can view the full cleaning details in the app, which is well laid out and easily understood although we would have liked to be able to differentiate between a vacuum only or a vacuum/mop clean when looking at a cleaned area in the history of cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the most recent version of Roborock's flagship robot vacuum and mop is the most recent version. The model of this year features two agitators built into its mopping pad. This enhances the cleaning capabilities of carpets with this model. The S8 Pro Ultra also has improved suction power, allowing it to pick up fine hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners could overlook.
Like the two other Roborock models I've tried it also has a 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology which can help it avoid walls, furniture and other obstacles. However, the S8 Pro Ultra takes things an extra step by incorporating a dual camera that can detect objects and determine whether they are an object that is a wall or a different surface. It is able to change its course in a way that is automatic and clean around them without stumbling.
It's the most expensive model I've tried, but it also has the most features. Its sleek and angular design is eye catching, and it only has three physical buttons. The power button, which restarts the cleaning mop button, which doubles up as a child-lock, and a home-button to send the robot to its dock. The hinged lid can be opened to reveal a 350ml dustbin and 200ml of water tank. The water tank self-empties, and the bin is auto-filling.
The only issue I have found with this model is that its VibraRise mop pad mount isn't movable. While you can swap out the mopping cloth (if needed) but it's a challenge to take off the mount for manual washing. I've noticed that any plush carpet that the robot passes will be in contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and could cause abrasions.
The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a number smart features including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The Roborock app is where you can manage and set up these features. It also contains maps and advanced mopping options. The app allows you to schedule cleanings and monitor battery life and component maintenance. However, you'll need to jump through a few hoops to enable voice control on this model, which is a shame considering the quality of its performance.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop with incredible suction power, sophisticated mowing capabilities, and ingenuity features. Its intelligent design allows for personalized and efficient cleaning, while reducing time.
The X40 is the first robot vacuum cleaner to deliver 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which makes it one of the most effective alternatives available. This powerful vacuum can clean up dry mess, including pet hair and food particles. It comes with a mop that is top quality that cleans hard floors without the need for a pad. Additionally, the X40 is very quiet during operation, only producing occasional squeaks of sound when switching modes or completing self-maintenance tasks.
The X40 has an additional side brush that can be lifted and extended. This lets it reach into corners that are hard to reach and clean furniture that is curved like table and chair legs. It also lets the robot to get under furniture that is low-profile making it an ideal option for smaller apartments and condos with tight spaces. The side brush tilts automatically down when it detects wet spots. This is a great feature that enables the X40 to avoid causing damage to floors through repeated back-and-forth movements.
In contrast to other robots that are limited to a single task, the X40 can mop and vacuum simultaneously. It can be programmed to only mop the hard floors and not skip carpeted areas, and reverse the process. It can be controlled through the Dreame app or via Alexa, Siri, and Google Home for a seamless voice-controlled operation.
The app is simple and user-friendly and the X40's intelligent features are a breeze to install. Users can program the X40 for cleaning at specific times. It is also possible to alter suction power, switch modes, view floor plans and maps and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also keep track of its progress, and alert you when it's done.
The X40 is easy to maintain and has many features which make it a good choice for busy families. Its docking station automatically empties the dustbin into a large 3.2 L bin, washes mop pads and refills them with fresh water and cleaning solution. It also can detect when the mop pad is full and notify you when it overflows, reducing the requirement for manual maintenance.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's one of the most expensive models available and comes with many extra features that set it apart. Its mops have a new feature called Smart DuoScrub. It utilizes two mops that are high-speed to clean floors more thoroughly than the standard method, and has an impressive suction power of 7,000Pa. This is much higher than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni and can remove pet hair and other small dirt particles and also pick up spills and wet spots.
The mop is also dried and cleaned inside the base station after every use. This is a great feature as it keeps mould and unpleasant odours that can build up in the storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a system we haven't yet seen on other robot vacuums and mop models and could be a good method of keeping your home cleaner for longer.
There's an impressive amount of settings available, including the ability to schedule cleaning and adjust a variety of preferences. These can be set via the app or there are direct buttons on the device itself. The app is easy to use and offers many options for customizing the cleaning process, and there are many functions that other robots don't include, for instance, the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power when it detects dust particles, rather than using an individual setting.

The L20 Ultra is also one of the most elegant robots we've seen in the market, sporting metallic and white colors that looks elegant and classy. It's a bit heavier at 4kg than the other robots on this list but it's not a lot of weight. It feels solid and well-built. Mopping is well designed and the double-rotating mop is a great choice for hard floors or in corners. They can even reach down to 2mm of baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature, which is a nice feature.
