Robots That Vacuum And Mop Explained In Fewer Than 140 Characters
Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that vacuum and mop provide the convenience of cleaning both dry debris (dust dirt, grit) and wet mess (spills and staining) in one session without the need to switch out devices. They also can save space when compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will provide excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models that have docks that let them automatically empty their bins, replenish their water tanks and wash the mopping pads.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It's among the easiest robots to set up that we've ever tested. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and the quick-start guide will get you up and running with a clean, complete dust bag, hard floor solution and water tank in no time at all.
The S1 Pro is a powerful little machine that cleans up a mess and is a great vacuum cleaner too. The mops spin at high speeds and can apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, allowing for quick removal of dirt, pet hair, and dried sticky spills. The vacuum comes with four power modes, a range of brushes and attachments, and a user-friendly application that lets you select the type of cleaning you'd like for each room.
For example, you can opt for the robot to clean up the living and kitchen but go easy on the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It is able to recognize small obstacles that other models can't. Its only drawback is that it can smash into walls and other objects at full speed - but a quick glance at the history of cleaning in the app tells you exactly what it's doing and where it's headed and what obstacles it's avoided.

The docking station comes with an LCD display that displays when maintenance is needed like emptying the debris and rinsing the dirty water tank. It's also able to mix detergent automatically into the water tank, with a 600ml bottle of eufy's own solution.
Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop have plenty of run-time and the mop is capable of running for 184 minutes in Quiet mode, while the vacuum is able to do 136 minutes in normal mode, before needing to recharge or return to the base to replenish. The app is easy to use and intuitive and lets you view every aspect of the cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's flagship robot vacuum and mop. The model this year has two agitators built into its mopping pad. This increases the cleaning capabilities of carpets with this model. The S8 Pro Ultra also has improved suction power, allowing it to pull up small hairs and other particles that other robotic cleaners could miss.
This Roborock model, just like the other two I tried, has infrared and reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology that helps it avoid obstacles such as furniture, walls and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further and includes two cameras that can recognize objects, and determine if they are walls or other surfaces. It can then automatically change its path and clean them without skipping a beat.
It's the most expensive model I've tried and it comes with the most features. Its sleek, angular design is striking, and it only has three physical buttons. The power button, which also restarts the cleaning, a mop button that doubles as a child lock and a home-button that can take the robot to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid, you will find the 350ml dust bin as well as a 200ml water tank. The water tank self-empties, and the bin is auto-filling.
The only downside I found to this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't removable. While you can swap out the mopping cloth (if it's required) however, it's a hassle to take off the mount to wash it manually. I've found that any plush carpet that the robot passes will come into contact with the Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and can cause abrasions.
The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart features that include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. The Roborock app allows you to manage and set up these advanced features. It also includes maps and advanced mopping options. The app also allows you to schedule cleanings, track the battery life and maintain your components. You'll have to go through a series of steps to activate voice control on this model. It's a shame considering the performance otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop with outstanding suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and innovative features. Its innovative design allows for customised and efficient cleaning while also saving time.
The X40 is the first robot vacuum cleaner to provide 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which makes it one of the top options available. This powerful vacuum can clean up pet hair as well as crumbs and other dry messes. It also comes with a high-quality mop that leaves hard floors sparkling clean, even with a wet pad. The X40 is also very quiet while in use, with only occasional bursts during modes changes or self-maintenance.
Another notable feature is the X40's extendable and liftable side brush which allows it to get into difficult-to-access corners and clean curved furniture like table and chair legs. It also lets the robot to access furniture with a low profile which makes it a great option for smaller apartments and condos with tight spaces. The side brush tilts automatically down when it spots wet spots. This is a great feature that enables the X40 to prevent damage to floors from excessive back-and forth movements.
Unlike other robots, which are limited to a single task, the X40 can mop and vacuum simultaneously. It can be programmed to only mop the hard floors and skip carpeted areas, or reverse the process. It can be controlled via the Dreame app or via Alexa, Siri, and Google Home to ensure a smooth voice-controlled operation.
The app is user-friendly and user-friendly and the X40's clever features are simple to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times. They can also adjust suction power, change modes, look at floor plans and maps, and manage mopping setting. auto vacuum will also track its progress, and alert you when it's done.
The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with numerous convenient features, making it a great option for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the trash bin into a 3.2 L bin, washes the mop pads, then refills them with clean water and a cleaning solution. It also can detect when the mop pad is full and notify you before it overflows, reducing the necessity for manual maintenance.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available. However, it has many characteristics that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub, which is a new feature in its mops, uses two mop heads with high-speed motors to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a suction force of 7,000Pa. This is significantly higher than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can vacuum up pet hair and small dirt particles in addition to removing spills and wet spots.
The mop is cleaned and dried at the base station every time they are used. This is an excellent feature as it stops the growth of odours and mould in the storage area, and it also makes mop systems more efficient. This is a system we haven't yet seen on other robot vacuums and mop models and could be a good method to keep your home clean for longer.
There's an impressive amount of settings available that include the possibility to schedule cleaning appointments and alter a variety of preferences. These can be set via the app, or via buttons on the device itself. The app is easy to use and has a lot of options for customizing the cleaning routine. Additionally, there are numerous functions that other robots don't include, such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power when it detects dust particles, rather than using an individual setting.
The L20 Ultra is also one of the most stylish robots we've seen on the market, with metallic and white colors that is elegant and stylish. It is a little heavier at 4kg than the other robots on this list, but it's still not too heavy. It feels solid and well-constructed. Mopping is also well-designed, and the double rotating mops work well on hard floors and in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to extend up to 2mm below the baseboards.
