If you've ever wanted to get a robot vacuum, now is the time. CNET's top-rated models are on sale this Black Friday and Cyber Monday with savings of up to 57%..
The Roborock Q7 Max is a powerful robot that has smart mapping and app-based no go zones. Its running time of 180 minutes is impressive. It also automatically replenishes and self-empties its water tank.
1. Roomba j7+ from iRobot

The Roomba J7+, iRobot's most intelligent robot to date, is the Roomba J7+. The most significant advancement, however, is its camera-based obstacle detection system. It uses AI to detect objects such as charging cables and shoes. It's the first robot to provide you with pictures of the objects that it encounters, so you can instruct that it is safe to avoid it.
The Combo J7+ is the most effective mop-bot we've ever tested, removing dirt and spills with ease while leaving no trace it was there. It's easy to control using the iRobot Home app that allows you to schedule cleaning and set up Keep Out Zones to make sure it doesn't clean areas you don't want it to. And it's compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can control it from start to stop using your voice.
The design is also better than the other models. It has an elegant, top piece that appears like a toy rather than an obnoxious and loud robot. Clean Base's Automatic Dirt Disposal System is also self-emptying which will cut down your cleaning time.
In our tests the j7+ was quick to remove dust dirt, pet hair and other particles. The counter-rotating rubber brushes kept the debris in place, instead of scattering it across the floor. It even managed to catch small gravel and sand that other robots couldn't do. It did all this without getting caught in our pet's hair.
The j7+, though not as intelligent as the Roomba S9 for $1,217and Self-Emptying Vacuum Robot from iRobot and can't clean the stairs, is an option for those who require both mopping and a vacuum. It's not expensive, and the IRobot app makes it user-friendly.
The iRobot Home App is easy to use, but we found it less reliable than other robotic cleaner apps. It can take a while to download updates and it is sometimes difficult to know if they are working until you see them in action.
2. Roborock Q5+
When you're looking for an automated vacuum cleaner that can do more than simply clean floors, the most effective option is likely to be one that is a hybrid. These bots are equipped with a water tank, so they can vacuum and mop at the same time. They also come with a variety of extra features like smart mapping and small object avoidance and the possibility of washing and re-drying mopping pads. The negative is that they can be pricey at full retail, but on Black Friday and Cyber Monday they often drop in price.
Roborock makes some of our favorite robot vacuums and the Q5+ isn't an exception. This is the cheapest model in their auto-empty line. Although it doesn't include some of the expensive features (like no-go zones and multi-story memories) but it's an excellent option if you are willing to make a few compromises to save a few bucks.
The Q5+ is extremely gentle when it comes down to obstacles such as walls and table legs. This makes it an ideal option for homes with many furniture pieces. It is also very thorough in cleaning up dust bunnies. This is a area where many cheaper robot vacuums fall short. The navigation technology in the Q5+ is excellent and has very few missed corners and along walls.
The Q5+, like other Roborock products, can be controlled by a few buttons on the device, or via the Roborock App. The app allows you to start and stop cleanings. You can also set schedules, create virtual barriers and no-go areas and modify your home map or re-label the rooms.
If you select the Q5+ it comes with a new auto-emptying dock, designed to make this robot easier to maintain. Installing it requires a screwdriver however, once it's in place emptying the bin is done with relative ease. smart robot features a large LCD screen which is helpful for setting up schedules or adjusting settings. This isn't a necessity for everyone but it can assist you in keeping the track of the intervals between maintenance for your robot effortlessly.
3. Narwal Freo X Ultra
The Freo X Ultra is a well-rounded robot mop and vacuum that's astonishingly smart in both its mopping and vacuuming capabilities. Its design and functionality are some of the most advanced available - but it's also pricey.
It's a tiny base station that looks beautiful and is easily hidden when not in use. But the station's biggest selling point is how it automates various tasks and functions that other robots leave up to you. It can store clean and dirty water, it electrolyzes and heats the water (which the majority of other robots require you to do) also emptying the dustbin after vacuuming, and keeps your robot clean and charged.
Its vacuuming performance is also impressive. It's the only robovacs that I've tried that does a really good job of collecting debris from bare floors, and it's not as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot 900 series.
The Freo X Ultra is not free of faults, especially when it comes to navigation. Its LiDAR sensors and laser sensors aren't as reliable and reliable as other robot vacuums. This means it is prone to getting stuck or confused in certain areas or rooms of the house. It's also unable to climb stairs like other models and doesn't come with a docking station to create a clean zone for carpets with plush padding.
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is an excellent choice for those who want an automated vacuum that can do everything.
But if you want to save some cash, or just don't care about the limitations of this robotic, there are plenty of other options on the market which include a variety of eufy models priced significantly less. The Eufy Qrevo curv, for example, is cheaper, but offers more features, such as the ability to climb stairs and a full-function Dock, with an improved overall experience when vacuuming on bare floors carpets with low pile as well as high-pile ones.
4. Eufy RoboVac G30
eufy, an Anker company is a long-standing leader of creating robot vacuums that strike the right balance between features, performance and price. The G30 Hybrid is no different and offers a powerful cleaning on hard floors and carpets and mopping function too at an affordable price point. It's simple to set up, just snap one of the side brushes on, switch on and plug in the charging dock. The app walks you through a few steps to connect it to your Wi-Fi. After that, the G30 is ready to go. The dock must be located near an outlet and have enough space to move.
The G30 is tiny, 2.85 inches tall to be exact, which means it can be tucked away under couches and other low-clearance furniture. Its design isn't as ostentatious in comparison to other models. It features a sleek black finish with three physical buttons for Auto Cleaning start/pause (which scrubs an area in a spiral pattern for two minutes), Recharge, and Spot Cleaner. It is also possible to connect the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home for voice commands to perform routine cleaning tasks that are not scheduled.
The most important feature that makes the G30 apart from most competitors is the method it cleans. It uses a built-in mapping to create an image of the non-movable objects that are in its path, remembering what it's already cleaned and what it isn't able to access. If it requires a recharge, it will automatically return to its base, and then resumes cleaning where it started.
The sleek G30 has its flaws however. The iRobot Roomba 675 is more built, incurs lower recurring costs, charges faster and offers similar battery life while offering superior performance on floors that are unfinished and carpets with low pile. It also has a bigger dust bin that doesn't require to be emptied as frequently and comes with an array of boundaries to keep it away from certain areas. The G30, however, is more affordable and a lot more manageable to maintain. Its smaller container means it doesn't need to be emptied as frequently and has less difficulty with bulky items like cereal.
