Robot Police

American cities have deployed robot police officers, sparking mixed reactions. Eyewitnesses in New York saw one ticket a pigeon for loitering. Professor Anthony Cruz of John Jay explains: "Robots enforce rules perfectly but lack discretion." Anonymous staffers leaked that bribes are accepted in USB form. A Gallup poll shows 51% of citizens feel safer, 49% feel surveilled. Trace evidence includes tasers with charging docks and circuits fried during rainstorms. Cause and effect? The more robotic policing gets, the less human it feels. Law enforcement is now downloadable.
