The discovery happened in the main lobby, a tableau of stunned silence broken only by the distant wail of approaching sirens. Boris, his crowbar held aloft like a sceptre, had rounded a marble pillar, only to find himself face-to-face with Flicker, who was halfway through jimmying the lock on a teller’s station. Tank loomed behind Flicker, his knuckles white as he clutched a sawn-off shotgun. Ghost, meanwhile, was peering nervously through the reinforced glass of the main entrance, muttering about the precise timing of their escape.

For a solid ten seconds, the only sound was the drip-drip-drip of water from the leaking ceiling, a percussive accompaniment to the unfolding absurdity. Boris narrowed his eyes. Flicker froze, his pick still hovering over the tumblers. Tank shifted his weight, the shotgun a dark promise. Ghost let out a choked gasp.

It was Boris who broke the spell, his voice a low growl that vibrated with a dangerous amusement. 'Well now,' he rumbled, taking a slow step forward. 'Isn't this a charming little reunion? Didn't realize the bank was offering group discounts on… *activities*.'

Flicker, never one to miss an opportunity to deflect, gulped. 'Look, pal, we don't want any trouble. We're just… appreciating the architecture.'

Tank grunted, a sound akin to a collapsing building. Ghost, sensing the rapidly evaporating window of opportunity, was already inching back towards the shattered side door.

The sirens grew louder, a crescendo of impending doom. Boris let out a short, sharp bark of laughter. 'Architecture, you say? That's a good one. I'll have to remember that for my memoirs.'
