This shot does involve a squirrel and a car. But it was a stationary car's back lights which were behind the squirrel which was just casually dangling from the pear tree in order to access the sunflower seed hearts.

One of these two fledgling red-shouldered hawks is leaning in a little bit to close.
And the main villains of this saga; these scumbags. Figured Roadkill and his band of losers would work better for Bloodfall so here they are. Basically they're just a bunch of Mad Max rejects using whatever they can get their hands on to cause trouble, hence the less-than-futuristic weapons. These are just the 'figs I liked, too. The actual amount of 'figs I made for the gang is bigger.

Scott and I were taking a late afternoon spin at Las Gallinas and this Northern Harrier male was guarding his bird kill.
This stubby was just squished and still shiny. Not enough time in the street to even start some dull patina, much less rust.
In case you were wondering, that "fresh roadkill red" is a reflection of a plastic file folder in the ferrule.
Not sure what use this building once had on the outskirts of a struggling town which is not clear on it's name. It was legally incorporated as Krupp in 1911 but changed it's Post Office to Marlin during WW I to avoid association with a munitions company in Germany. Both names are still in use for the town which currently has a population of around 45.
Large trees dwarf the decaying structure. The trees too are struggling to survive.
And here's the chief assbag himself. So yeah, when I was posting pics of this guy earlier trying to perfect the rust scars on his armor, you were all actually getting a preview of sorts. Besides the fantastic shotgun done by Collin McLaren, I made this 'fig entirely on my own. When I said his crew was a bunch of rejected Mad-Max villains, well, this guy is like a second-rate post-apoc Warlord, then. Next time we see him expect to have bloody wrappings around his shinguards as well. One detail I forgot to put on before I started photographing.

Seen on the way home from work on Friday. Usually a hawk will fly off very quickly but this one let me get close and come to a stop. Maybe it was very hungry.

An immature eagle feeds on some raccoon roadkill. Eagles are great hunters and fishers but if the prey is easy - they accommodate quickly to the scavenger mode.
I guess a good lesson is: Not all backroad scenes are pretty and raccoons are not very good at crossing roads.
I rounded a bend driving on one of Devon's quieter A roads to be confronted with this sight. I still had the long lens on my lap and managed to get a few frames without being rear-ended. She is a sparrowhawk and I think the prey is a collared dove.

The previous incarnation of these scumbags were just leftovers from TLG's 90s pirates sets and didn't really work in the setting. Some time and pricey Bricklink orders later and now that's different. They really looks like the Cyberpunk Mad Mad raider-wannabes they were meant to be. The top ones, at least. The bottom ones I imagine are lower-ranked members that have been in and out of jail (or more likely escaped) as you can tell. They were sorta inspired by some of the Joker goons in Arkham City.
