Just moved to a new house and needed a new vacuum for a house with laminate floors. Have a Dyson upright and it was too heavy and not that great in picking up small particles on laminate floors. After much anguish and reading so many reviews, settled on this vacuum. I am 95% satisfied. Pros -Quieter than my upright Dyson. Can vacuum at night and not wake up the kids. -Great in picking up small particulate matter and dust. The vaccuum head has a roll that spins when it is in contact with the floor. It does not use a belt but spins passively due to the suction with the ground. -love the cord retraction functionality. Completely awesome. -much lighter than the Dyson -Can choose between 2 vacuum heads and also has 2 small accessory attachments. Cons -it has less overall suction than the Dyson, but yet it worked better on the laminate. -just decent on low pile rug. Would not use this on carpet. -not very compact in storage. See photo. Neutral -cord length is fine in my opinion. Not as long as Dyson, but it's ok. ----------///-----------/-/------- Update 6/2016 It's been about two months. I forgot to add a few pros - great in picking things up close to the wall. - easy to take off canister, easy to empty, and easy to put back on. - like the easily adjustable length stick Cons- - not so easy to vaccuum stairs. - a plastic piece which surrounds the hose to the handle broke. It's function was to prevent kinking of the hose at the handle. So far it has not been a problem as the hose is pretty sturdy and doesn't kink even without it, however, kind of suprised it broke after 2 months. - haven't really found a use for the 2 hose attachments.

Loving this vacuum for my hard floors. The suction on this is ridiculously powerful and SOOO quiet compared to my previous brand. The only carpet in my home are door and bathroom mats - the attachment used for carpet does great. Even witg the carpet attachment, suction is strong; however, I am able to make the few swipes needed to get the carpets and couches clean. The main swivel head is great. It's definitely not bulky so I am able to get under dressers, behind toilets, all the little places that a normal vacuum cannot reach. I love that I can remove the attachments and use just the hose. I definitely recommend. Would buy again.

Did my research on the best vacuum for hard wood/vinyl floors and this is what I ended up with. Absolutely LOVE it! The suction on it is amazing. Picks up just about everything from dog hair to dirt. Easy to use and store away! Highly recommend this vacuum!

Excellent product! The vacuum picks up ALL the dust, cat hair and litter. We just moved into a one story home with all engineered hard wood floors. No carpet. So before we moved I did a great deal of research on vacuums specifically for hard wood floors. This vacuum continually came up as a wonder. I absolutely agree. The suction is amazingly by. The brush bristles are as soft as a baby’s hair brush! Extremely easy to access and empty the dirt cup. I love the retractable cord!! And the hose detaches from the handle in a flash to pick up a small area. Love that! My back and hips are a “train wreck” so when I say it is easy to use I really mean it. I do have to say that the only con is that it’s a little hard to pull/roll. That could be be partially because our floors are not smooth. However that’s another plus since the floors are uneven and the farmhouse style. If you’re looking for an excellent hard wood floor vacuum, I don’t believe you can do any better than this Bissel.

I'm seriously loving this vacuum! I'm a neiltech who was tired of spending my life sweeping and dusting my salon suite. This little compact gem really picks up glitter and acrylic/gel dust in nothing flat! It's actually quite quiet too! The on board tools allow me to vacuum polish racks, blinds, recessed drawer handles, baseboards etc. Easy to empty the canister over a trash bin. Filters are washable/reusable.

I've had this vacuum for right at 2 years. I use it on laminate wood flooring only. After about 1 month of use, the plastic piece broke that supports the hose at the handle (as other reviewers have mentioned). It didn't seem to make a huge difference so I didn't worry about it and used it like that for 2 years. Finally, a week ago, the cord snapped right at the canister. I ordered replacement parts - a hose/handle, the floor attachment (mine was dirty and just needed to be replaced), then got new filters - spent around $80 to get it back into top shape. I installed the parts and it works like new again. Hoping to get another couple of years of use. I have 4 children so I vacuum daily. There are a lot of crumbs, paper, dust, etc, and it works well for cleaning up all of that. Suction is good, noise is about average, retractable cord still works perfectly, and canister is easy to remove and empty, then reattach. This is used in my kitchen and living room so the crumbs and mess are heavy. I try to avoid large particles or wet food (eggs, vegetables, etc) because those will cause buildup on the attachment. Great, affordable vacuum for laminate flooring. Would recommend!

We bought this vacuum cleaner nearly 4 years ago and to this date it runs perfectly without losing any suction. The multiple attachments are handy when it comes to switching between vacuuming floors, furniture, baseboard, etc... I saw a few reports of people saying that it looses suction - this is not at all our experience. You do need - no more than once a year though - wash by hand a small secondary filter that is easily accessed at the top of the vacuum cleaner and maintains suction. If you do - this vacuum will run like brand new as it has for us.

Prior to using this vacuum, I was using my ex-gf's (bless her soul) Dyson. I actually prefer the Bissell. The build quality is on par with the Dyson and the Bissell is quieter and has better suction, all for 1/3 of the price. The fact that the Dyson was noisy was convenient to drown-out the gf's screaming and outbursts, but now I have a better vacuum and better gf, so I couldn't be happier!

Pretty good vacuum cleaner but beware of the price for spare filters.

This unit is pretty good and the suction is great. 2 plastic parts broke less than a month after purchase but it does not affect how the unit runs and it's still usable 100%. I'm a Canadian and the thing to look for is the replacement filters which there are two of. You can only buy them from the Bessel web site as Amazon does not sell them and for only one of each it comes down to 50 Canadian dollars. 2 small little filters for that price is grossly overpriced and one would need to buy 100$ worth on their site in order to have free shipping. Hello we're in 2019.. I would not buy again simply for this.

Product is great for the price; however, almost immediately after first few uses, the cheap plastic holding the hose to the handle snapped off and had to be tied with a string. Other than that, product performs as advertised. Just wish they would have used a stronger material to hold the hose.

I bought this mainly for hardwood floors. The suction is so hard you need to pick up the vacuum stick every time u go back and forth if u want it to pick up new dirt. So annoying and makes vacuuming take a very long time. So we tried the other head..the one thag toggles between carpet setting and floor setting. Its better but for some reason the floor setting scratched my floors on a couple occasions. So we don't use that setting anymore. Also a few wks after buying the vacuum, the little plastic piece that lets u store the stick upright, broke off. Very cheaply made. A couple months later a part of the hose is smushed. The vacuum still works but I would never buy it again. And wouldn't recommend it.
