Rickey Smiley Announces Nationwide Comedy Tour After Emotional Year

Comedian and radio personality Rickey Smiley has announced a massive nationwide comedy tour, 'Laughing Through the Pain,' set to kick off in June. The tour comes after a year of personal challenges, including the tragic loss of his son, Brandon Smiley, in early 2023.

In an exclusive interview with Entertainment Tonight, Smiley shared that comedy has been his therapy. 'Laughter heals, and I want to help people heal while I heal myself,' he said. 'I’ve been through a lot, but God keeps giving me strength. Now, it’s time to get back on stage and do what I love.'

The tour will feature a mix of his classic stand-up material and heartfelt storytelling about resilience, family, and faith. Fans can expect surprise appearances from fellow comedians and close friends, including Steve Harvey and Earthquake.

Smiley, known for his long-running Rickey Smiley Morning Show and reality TV series 'Rickey Smiley For Real,' has remained a beloved figure in entertainment. His openness about grief and perseverance has resonated with fans, many of whom have flooded social media with support for the tour.

Tickets go on sale next week, with a portion of proceeds going to the Brandon Smiley Foundation, which supports young aspiring comedians and addiction awareness programs.

'I’m doing this for Brandon, for my family, and for everybody who’s ever faced a tough time,' Smiley said. 'We’re gonna laugh, cry, and keep pushing forward together.'
