Riae Suicide, born Ria Elisabeth, is an Italian alternative-tattoo model, Suicide Girl, YouTuber and internet personality.
She was born on Sept 24, 1984 in Varase, Lombardy, Italy
Her real name is Ria, however she added the E from her middle name Elisabeth, to get the pseudonym Riae for her Suicide Girl profile.
Riae reveals that growing up she was an ‘ugly duckling’ and never fit in with the other kids and was bullied. Her self-esteem was further relegated by ex-boyfriends who told her she was ugly and that she should be grateful to them for dating her.
She doesn’t regret those experiences, because it has made her the person that she is today:
If I had been pretty, hadn’t been bullied and laughed at as an outsider, if I’d had a great social life, maybe I wouldn’t have worked on myself, wouldn’t have had the experiences I di.d
She left home at 16-years-old and worked various jobs; waitress, disco’s pr, house cleaner, pet groomer and secretary for various tattoo shops.
In 2007 she started dabbling in modeling and was accepted into the Suicide Girls program shortly thereafter. Being accepted into Suicide Girls made her realize that you didn’t need to fit into the traditonal conception of beauty to model and she calls that realization her ‘baptism of lens.’
She got her first tattoo done by a schoolmate at the age of 14, and it was two small wings above her backside, however she got it covered up years later.
Besides her numerous tattoos that cover her entire body, she also has a split tongue piercing.
Her favorite books include ‘Choke’ and ‘Invisible Monster’ by Chuck Palahniuk, and ‘Me Talk Pretty One Day’ by David Sedaris and her favorite artist is Saturno Buttò .
Her favorite city to visist is Guadalajara, Mexico and Riae says she visits at least once a year.
I love it all: the landscape, the food and especially the people who I absolutely adore.
