Part of being the "world's most dangerous woman" at the top of the mixed martial arts (MMA) game is, apparently, wardrobe malfunction. At least, that's what Ronda Rousey told Rolling Stone magazine in a recent feature of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) superstar.
On top of the stress of trying to finish the world's toughest No. 1-ranked contenders in the women's bantamweight division in less than one minute, Rousey confessed she's worried a bit about the cameras catching something it rather shouldn't:
I have a weigh-in bra that's smaller and lighter and I'm a girl, so it's cuter, too, and I wanna look cute. But, on fight night, who cares about looking cute? It needs to be effective, only on that particular fight night, I didn't have an effective bra. I just had two cute bras, so I had to wear one of them. At one point, I was perilously close to showing everyone my nipples, so the second I got her off my back, my mind shifted to 'Cover yourself up, girl!' And when Liz saw that, she kicked me right in the chest. Which she was entirely right to do. I would have done it if I was her.
The champ is, of course, referring to her historic fight with Liz Carmouche for the inaugural UFC Women's Bantamweight Championship fight at UFC 157.
But, it's not just a little "nip slip" the women have to worry about inside the cage. Rousey revealed there's another somewhat embarrassing thing to remember when wearing the skin tight shorts the champ is known for displaying inside the Octagon.
The first Miesha fight, she got her hooks in from behind, and I was like, 'Oh, I can get out of here easy.' But, if I did, I would flash everyone, so I had to figure out a way to pull her feet out where my business was facing down, not facing the world. And then I have a phobia about camel toe. I swear to God, every time after I win, even before I take my mouth guard out, I pull my shorts down, and it's because I have a phobia of hi-def camel toe, people zooming in on the Internet and everything. It's always, first thing, fix the camel toe!
It's kind of amazing to think the champ is considering the catastrophic possibility of displaying her unmentionables ahead of being submitted in a title fight. But, then again, perhaps she's worried about becoming the kind of wardrobe malfunction celebrity that Dennis Hallman became after flashing the cameras while wearing a rather inadvisable man-kini banana hammock to a UFC fight against Brian Ebersole at UFC 133.

In a recent interview for ESPN the Magazine’s ‘Body Issue’, UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey (7-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) caused a stir when she pointed out that boobs were a big issue in women’s mixed martial arts.
At yesterday’s media event for the UFC, Rousey expanded on the issue and how she plans to fix her wardrobe for her next fight with Tate:
“Yeah, I’m going to go shopping myself,” she said. “Because I told them I wanted exactly what I was wearing for the Sarah Kaufman fight. That’s all I want. And I got two weigh-in bras, and the wrong shorts. So I thought I could just double up the bra and that would work. But when someone’s ripping your head off, it’s hard to keep things in one place.”
“I used to think that camel toe was my biggest concern, but I think nip slip takes the cake.”
