The UFC superstar just made her comeback a little more eye-popping.
With Wednesday’s announcement of Ronda Rousey’s long awaited return to the Octagon , the hype machine is about to start humming. Even with Conor McGregor’s recent run of success, Rousey is still the UFC’s biggest star and Sports Illustrated knows it. That’s why the magazine kept some shots from Rousey’s famous body paint photo shoot in the vault. They knew these pics would explode if unveiled at the right time. Now is that time.
Just after Rousey’s headlining bout at UFC 207 was announced, the magazine released these shots.
With that out of the way, let’s check in on what we’ve learned about Rousey’s comeback fight in the 48 hours since it was announced.
For starters, her opponent, the current UFC women’s bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes, is feeling very confident. “I’m 100 percent gonna beat Ronda Rousey — I’m 200 percent,” she told TMZ this week .
What’s makes her so sure? Nunes thinks she has Rousey figured out and that Rousey has no chance of solving Nunes’ most potent weapon. “I don’t think she’s gonna be able to deal with my striking,” Nunes said. “She’s gonna be really surprised when I touch her, when I connect on my punches.”
Vegas, meanwhile, isn’t so sure about Nunes’ prediction . Sportsbooks have pegged Rousey as a -200 favorite, a far cry from the -1650 she had next to her name going into her last fight against Holly Holm. Vegas’ reservations are not surprising. By the time she enters the cage at UFC 207, it will have been nearly 14 months since Rousey’s last fight.
It’s not just that layoff that’s concerning oddsmakers either. Rousey has, at points in the lost year, seemed to lost her fire. She’s shunned the UFC in favor of acting, modeling and, yes, knitting .
But Rousey has always had a fierce work ethic. It’s what propelled her to the top of the UFC. So she’s not showing up on December 30 unprepared. Problem is, neither is Nunes. This should be fun.

The real Roxanne once promised to make you feel hotter than it is in Grenada. That could be a pretty tall order now that Ronda Rousey is there, heating up the beach in her birthday suit.
The former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) women's bantamweight champion is helping mixed martial arts (MMA) fans put a name booty to a face, after Sports Illustrated Swimsuit editor M.J. Day leaked a handful of photos proving that "Rowdy" is the owner of these black-and-white cheeks .
Back for her second year, Ronda Rousey will join an elite club of body-painted swimsuit models in the 2016 SI Swimsuit issue. Yep, you read that right. Ronda will wearing NOTHING BUT PAINT on the pages of our magazine next month. So what could be better? Well, as it turns out, the beach in Grenada where we shot Ronda's gorgeous photos is public, so some eager paparazzi got a few early snaps. That means Christmas is coming again, folks! We're sharing a few BTS shots that are sure to tie you over until our official images of Ronda hit newsstands next month.
Rousey is slowly but surely coming out of hiding after last November's knockout loss to Holly Holm. In fact, the Olympian has even agreed to host Saturday Night Live on Jan. 23, 2016 on NBC ( more on that here ). I guess that's one way to keep busy during her self-imposed hiatus.

It's official: Ronda Rousey is not only back for this year's Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue, she's upping the ante. This time around, the UFC fighter is going without the swimsuit altogether.
New official and behind-the-scenes paparazzi photos show the 28-year-old Californian posing for the Sports Illustrated team in nothing but body paint, which was applied to look like a curve-clinging one-piece bathing suit.

Rawr! Today, paparazzi pictures surfaced showing Ronda wearing a painted-on one-piece with an animal design
Nothing but colors: She swimsuit would be very sexy — and very revealing — even if it were real, but it's entirely made of paint
Official: Sports Illustrated confirmed that she participated in the Caribbean shoot and is one of several models to don body paint for the upcoming issue
The steamy Caribbean photoshoot doesn't seem to feature much by way of setting, as Ronda is perched on a rock among some trees.
But it's unlikely anyone will care much for an exotic beach scene, anyway, with the competitive former Bantamweight Champion slinking around in nothing but skin.
The faux-swimsuit, which was inspired by a design from Australian swimwear label We Are Handsome — as well as some expert angling — cover up Ronda just enough, with a sizzling low-cut back design sexy enough to almost make a person forget that it's not actually fabric draped over her derriere.

Yesterday, fans first got a hint that Ronda might be returning for the 2016 issue, a year after she posed on Captiva Island by famous photographer Walter Iooss Jr.
SI Swimsuit editor MJ Day shared her own behind-the-scenes teaser from the shoot, picturing just Ronda's back and behind in the body paint one-piece.
Taken during the publication's current exotic shoot, Day uploaded the picture alongside the caption: '#instabooty if #2016 keeps going like this then I'm going to be one happy happy girl! #bootypaint #siswimsuit.'
The image quickly sent the internet into an excitable frenzy, as Ronda was recognizable by two tattoos on her wrists, which she first revealed in April of 2013.

Initially, Sports Illustrated refused to confirm her appearance in the upcoming issue, simply writing on its official website : 'Isn't the idea of Ronda donning nothing but paint enough to tie you over until the issue comes out in February? A body-painted spread in SI Swimsuit would truly be a comeback for the ages!'
Today, however — perhaps due to the release of the paparazzi images — the magazine confirmed that she is coming back for a second year.
The editors also revealed that she won't be the only model to don body paint for the sexy issue.

Ronda went into the shoot off the back of a shocking loss to fellow American Holly Holm in the UFC women's Bantamweight title fight in November.
She has largely remained out of the public eye since, with the main exception being her December appearance at the Marine Corps Ball after being asked out by Lance Corporal Jarrod Haschert.
She has also been spotted out in California with boyfriend Travis Browne, 33, a fellow UFC fighter who was publicly accused by his ex-wife of spousal abuse.
The two have been keeping a low-profile while Ronda recovers from her injuries, which she said could take months to heal.
Though she described being 'f***ing sad' about the loss, however, she isn't wallowing, and had since challenged Holly to a rematch. It has been rumored that it may take place on July 9 , though neither the fight nor the date have been confirmed.
