Be careful not to be ripped off in cafes in Rhodes Old Town. We asked for 2 small beers and a coca-cola and were served litre drinks of each in a 'boot' glass. We told the waiter that we had ordered small drinks but were ignored and were presented with an extortionate bill which we had to pay. Apparently a large beer is 2 litres! Yep - exactly the same thing happened to us last year. Big cafe on the corner at the top of the hill. I have never ever heard of such a thing! This is incredible to me. I can't believe something like this could ever happen. Even if they are used to Scandinavian tourists, I would say that 2 litres is above normal size!
