PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -- Gas prices in Rhode Island have finally fallen after a recent spike, but theyre still way above the national average. AAA Southern New England reports in its latest survey Monday that the average cost of a gallon of self-serve regular is $3.77, three cents less than last week. Still, prices locally are up 18 cents in the last month. The current average in Rhode Island is 16 cents more than the per-gallon national average of $3.61. Rhode Islanders were paying an average of $3.68 per gallon a year ago at this time. View comments
