Mia or Zoe? Who did you give the serum to and why?
I gave the serum to Zoe! Why, you ask?! Because Mia chopped my f*****g hand off! Simple. Do I need another reason? What about you...?

Mia is the only choice for reasons the dlc shows.
Change your title post to remove spoilers. I picked Zoe because she was at least kind of interesting. Mia is boring, but her ending is the better one.

I'm on first playthrough. No dlc's or pre-concieved notions. Zoe is cuter, too.

Agreed! And her mouth is the funniest looking of all in the game. Why does everybody have that wierd looking mouth in this game?
Mia. The whole point of the game is that Ethan is doing everything he does to safe his wife. There is ZERO reason for him to trust Zoe at that point in the story, a woman he knew for a few hours, who constantly keeps secrets from him and who belongs to the crazy family trying to kill him. As a player we dont know Mia and the decision may be more open, but if you roleplay Ethan in any form there is no chance in hell he would ever choose Zoe. Also, choosing Zoe gives you the worse ending and the final DLC blatantly tells you that giving it to Mia is the canon for CAPCOM.

O.K. fellas'. No damn dlc's. No worse ending in mind. No "canon for Capcom". If this were real, who would you choose. Obviously Zoe. She never tried to kill me and she knows what's going on. Mia is a crazy lady at this point with NO advantage to choose her. Choosing her would be like a death sentance in your mind, and quite literally the blind leading the blind. **** Mia. I would chop off her arm if she came with me! You 'LITARALLY HAVE THE CURE IN YOUR HAND". Forget roleplaying Ethan. If you had any human emotion, you would pick Zoe. She is "THE ONLY PERSON IN THAT CRAZY HOUSE NOT TRYING TO TORTURE AND KILL ME". I'd choose Mia only if she was my my sister. She's not. I would want get with Zoe. Anybody would. Mia is a stranger at this point, too. No cure for Mia!

Your right, Ogami, but the question is posed! P.S.-CAPCOM wants everybody to choose the "good ending". I somehow don't trust their numbers. And of course I'm playing as Ethan! That's what makes me feel so strongly about it.

im firmly in camp Mia... Think about it, she must be f***ing wild in the sack if Ethan is still sniffing around like a dog with a bone, even after 3 years. Also, she Doms all night long, not to mention how flexible she is! Just think of the positions! Dont get me wrong, she can also be submissive and I love it when she says daddy's coming. that got me hard... f***ing right daddy is coming. Am i right? eh...!? yeah im right! In all seriousness who did you save your first time?
I saved Zoe because I didn't trust Mia. Turned out I was right, but the game punishes you for that choice as opposed to saving her. Still confused on how Zoe died. The cure killed Jack right away, so it wasn't the cure that killed her. But if she was cured, how did remote self destruct work?
I was summoned to the future by the last of mankind, to defend them in their hour of need. But my old enemy, Skeletor, followed me....

Why didn't Ethan call the cops before going to the farm? Or once he arrived and saw crazy stuff going on lol. Mia must be the best lay of his life, otherwise dude would've bolted out of there after 2 minutes (a locked door can't stop some one ) The "daddy is coming " bit had me laughing. Teenage girls throw that daddy stuff out left and right, it's so creepy.

I mean, I am but lets drop it ok ;) in regards to just running away, Ethan had plenty of opportunities. I mean he picked up some bolt cutters early on that he could have used to cut the barbed wire blocking windows etc. after that first exchange with MIa he could have left and made it back to the car :p then theres the bulls*** with the cop lol. video game logic haha EDIT: holy s*** i just realised capcom actually managed to capture the cheesiness of the early games whilst also making it scary and tense as hell.
I saved Mia the first time because I didnt see the point in going through all the trouble of trying to find her just to end up not curing her.

SPOILERS...kind of >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Mia if you want the good ending. Both Mia & Zoe live, but Zoe will stay infected Zoe if you want the bad ending. Zoe will be cured, but will die later anyway. Mia will also die later on.
For me getting to this point it is the only logical decision. Let's compare the two, shall we? Mia Winters (née Baker, I think...haven't beat the game but from the knowledge I have up to this point): - Married to Ethan for unspecified amount of time. There's history. Clearly a good one considering the video Ethan kept watching over and over (I presume) as she had been missing for three years. The connection is strong enough between them that the man heads out to unknown territory following his heart to find his love. Yes she goes berserk and yes Ethan fights her off...but despite it all, despite her going nuts he STILL endeavors to chase her because love isn't just squashed because his girl is going crazy. Longterm love can't just be destroyed by something over that. Besides, his own dialogue is heavy concern over Mia... Zoe Baker - Kind of cute, mostly mysterious. Never gives Ethan the full truth in any scenario, constantly BS's him into doing things for her that he doesn't understand and certainly doesn't warn him about her father and mother. Ethan shows that he cares more about getting Mia out of there alive, which is obvious...that's his damn wife. She's obviously desperate for her own life and her tone suggests flirtation but he has known her in person for roughly 5 minutes total before needing to make this big decision. So let's think about Ethan here for a second...he's likely been f***ed up for the past three years over his wife's disappearance, he finally hears from her and picks up to travel to god knows where to get her. He fights off her crazy father and family, gets tortured and ripped apart...but constantly endures for her sake. Now there just so happens to be this other girl, some semi-cuter one that shows up as an "ally". Has Ethan had any time to connect with her? No, she's just a pretty face. Is his dick supposed to guide him in choosing her? Well then he deserves whatever bad s***'s gonna befall him then if he does. If you make the choice based on Mia's appearance or Deadite moments, that's your decision...but I think from Ethan's shoes...from my own shoes as I'd be the crazy son of a b**** traveling into Hell for my own woman. The only choice, as Ethan says..."Who else would I choose?!"...or something like that. It's his damn wife.
Everyone has the right to an opinion - however, this does not mean it's a good one. Even the ignorant have thoughts they shouldn't share.

Resident Evil 7 introduced a choice in its final hours that drastically alters the outcome of the story. But the options — and subsequent DLC — were heavily skewed in favor of one ending over another. So what was the point of giving us a choice at all?
Towards the end of the game, protagonist Ethan is given the option of administering one person a curative serum. The choices are Mia, who is Ethan’s wife and the person whose rescue is his motivation for the entire game, and Zoe, his helper throughout this nightmare. You must decide which one to save, and this will lead you to two endings.
If you choose Mia, she rescues Ethan when he’s captured by Eveline and they’re both later rescued by Chris Redfield. If you choose Zoe, Eveline kills Zoe and Ethan is forced to kill Mia later, and he alone is rescued by Chris. The final boss is the same in both endings.
I’ve seen mixed reactions to this choice in Resident Evil 7 , and admittedly I was a bit baffled when I saw my options. Call me an old romantic, but I felt as though there were no way Ethan would abandon his wife to her death after having just gone through moldy hell and back to save her, no matter how much he might like Zoe.
But the question of who’s more deserving — your wife or your friend — turns out to be moot. If you choose Zoe, both she and Mia die. If you choose Mia, not only does she live and escape, but Zoe’s story is set up for the End of Zoe DLC. In End of Zoe , in spite of what the name suggests, Zoe lives and is saved by her heretofore-unmentioned Uncle Joe.
It begs the query: Why even have the option in the first place? Is there a point to having a choice when one is a “better” or canonical one?
When a player is handed a choice like that, obviously they don’t know what the outcome will be. Having a choice that late in the game does signal that it’ll affect the ending, but not how. Mia was my first choice, so I can only imagine what it was like playing Resident Evil 7 for the first time, choosing Zoe, and then getting such a disappointing finale.
Like I said, I’m an old romantic, but suppose you really wanted to save your friend, who’s been helping you out and who was dealt the mother of all bad hands when Eveline showed up and enslaved her entire family. You make your choice, and then boom, she’s dead minutes later. How is the player supposed to glean that not saving her here will save her later? And that’s not even taking into account that End of Zoe came out almost a full year after the main Resident Evil 7 , meaning if you did save Mia, Zoe was MIA that whole time.
Mechanically it doesn’t make any more sense, as there are no other choices anywhere else in the game — not choices of this import, anyway. Choice in video games is not something you can throw in at the final hour. If you do, it’s not difficult or challenging; it’s just baffling. It’s like making everyone take a pop quiz during lunch break — I refuse to believe it’s my fault for not being prepared for this.
Resident Evil games have had choice before, but not ones that lead to such blatantly mismatched endings. Give Barry his gun back or let Lisa kill him. Run from Nemesis or fight him. These choices affect what happens in the game and the ending, in obvious or not so obvious ways, but they didn’t give you a binary choice and then hand you a negative outcome you couldn’t have anticipated.
Is this all just to give the game the illusion of replayability? Is this some leftover from an earlier iteration of the game that had more options? It’s possible that this choice was the victim of some developmental cutbacks — I don’t know for sure. But if that were the case, I say they should have cut even further and removed the choice entirely.
What’s the point of including a choice when it doesn’t actually lead to vastly different outcomes and one ending is more positive anyway? It’s not really a choice in that case — more like an attempt to trick the player into going back and playing the ending over again.
