Remember The Times ⏱️

✅ Over the course of 2️⃣0️⃣1️⃣3️⃣ and ➕ 2️⃣0️⃣1️⃣4️⃣ sixteen people 👥 were interviewed about their experiences dating 📅 back 🔙 to their childhoods growing 💗 up ⬆️ in the Caribbean and ➕ the factors that led to them ➡️👥 to 🚪⬆️ leave 🏠️ home for a new 🆕 life 🧬 in Britain ​🇬🇧​ in the 1️⃣9️⃣5️⃣0️⃣s and ➕ 1️⃣9️⃣6️⃣0️⃣s. They talked 🗣️ about the difficulties they faced 😀 settling in a new 🆕 country, finding 🔎 work ⚙️ and ➕ accommodation in Slough, the music 🎼🎧️ they listened 👂️ to and ➕ played ▶️, dances 💃, excursions to the seaside, religion 🛐 and ➕ faith. It was an opportunity to look 👀 back 🔙 on their lives and ➕ reflect on their contributions to the community. These testimonies have now been recorded ⏺️ so their stories can 🥫 be told 🗣️ and ➕ future generations can 🥫 learn about their experiences.
