Regulator's let-it-ride target
outlookindiacomAfter meeting on Nov. 13 to discuss proposed rules requiring casinos to more clearly define the relationship between bets made at several table games and their payments, Nevada gaming regulators decided they needed more time to consider their options.
The issue was due to be discussed by the Nevada Gaming Commission on Monday, but it has been postponed for regulators to meet again with industry representatives on how to reduce confusion over players' rewards in Shuffle Master's Let It Ride card game, a type of poker.
Many casinos that offer this game place limits on how much a table can pay for a Let It Ride winner. Whether a gambler bets $30 or $300, the amount a table can pay is huge. Some casinos offer a limit of $75,000 for each person playing the game at the table, and critics accuse many gamblers of not knowing the limit.
Why: Placards on many Let It Ride tables describe the "total limit" for each table as $75,000.
"Any wording must be approved by the (Nevada Gaming) Control Board, as aggregation is not a common term," said Greg Gale, head of the control board's audit division. The wording was not previously approved because the board had not called for such action.
At a Nov. 13 meeting between regulators and casino industry executives, Shuffle Master President Mark Yoselov said gamblers choose how to place their Let It Ride bets above the table minimum. 실시간 바카라사이트
"Supposing totals are posted in a clear and non-deceptive manner, players who bet above minimum do so in light of the fact that their wins may be limited by totals for certain outcomes that occur infrequently, such as Royal Flush," Yosselov said.
The Control Board is also eyeing dividends from Fortune Pie Gow Poker, Three Card Poker and Caribbean Stud Poker, as they have total caps and question the fairness of those caps.
In Let It Ride, players place three bets on one hand. If they put $500 per bet and do a Royal flush, it would theoretically be a $1.5 million payment because the odds are 1,000 to 1.
Shuffle Master management insists the limit is not a problem for most gamblers, as few people receive winnings above the limit.
A control commissioner gave an immediate response at the meeting. Commissioner Bobby Schiller said, "You can make a bet and make a bet."
