Is it just me or was this sub far more active inbetween S1 and S2 than it is during this pause? I get the feeling that so much of the sub's hype for S3 died thanks to the disaster that was S2, which isn't a feeling I don't understand.
But the activity rn is at it's lowest since the sub was made, I think.

Loss of TW3 director and lead quest designer...
CP2077 length/issues in conjunction with the non-stock related sales
Woke entertainment media trends (luckily they fail when they aren't carried by brand name and even then they often do like the recent 100s of millions Disney lost with recent films)
That it will be a prequel meaning no real potential for varying world states and whatnot due to an established timeline
Too much of the game taking place in already visited locations from TW1 through TW3 when the world is vast (I will expand on this below for those that are not lore nerds like myself)
New PR excuses about shorter game length being what players want in conjunction with how damn short CP2077 was. I wouldn't have been anywhere near as happy about TW3 if it suddenly ended after Velen and Novigrad Act 1 (Whoreson Junior) which is literally about 1.5 hour difference (i literally timed getting to both points with casual play)...
Combat improvement (not DS...) Something in between B&W with access to advanced mutations and God of War (not power level but combat feel and less clunky movement)
Utilize multiple zones similar to TW3 so that we can possibly visit more distant regions in both the Northern Kingdoms and the Nilfgaardian Empire since places like Kaer Morhen (Blue Mountains) and Toussaint are actually pretty far from where the rest of the game takes place
Use of the Law of Surprise in fun ways like maybe it leads to new horses, getting screwed over in funny/entertaining ways, maybe even accidentally getting an orphan that is sent to a new Witcher school like the School of the Lynx (confirmed to be a Lynx) in the teaser, new gear, etc as it would make for fun replayability
MAYBE do a multiple protagonist system similar to GTAV where you have intertwined plots between a witcher, mage, and a non-human (dwarf, elf, doppler, etc)
New unknown creatures/bosses with no bestiary lore to be discovered due to the incomplete conjunction letting new creatures in during TW3
Cameos from key characters even if they aren't part of the main story with changes similar to how you answer questions about the events of the previous games during your first visit to Vizima that way it reflects things aside from whatever canon ending drives the events if it takes place after TW3
Expanded info regarding my concern earlier We visited very few major hubs in the games compared to whats out there. There are a lot of big "wow" moment potential locations similar to the first time striding into Novigrad or Skellige such as:
Aedirn with Expanded Blue Mountains with Ban Ard and it's magic academy, Dwarven mines, and Vengerberg (where Yennefer is from)

What is a potion you didn't use your first playthrough but used a lot in your following playthrough?
A little rant about what is most frustrating about Witcher 2
Witcher 2 question: Is there a clock ticking while I decide to do side quests?

Trying to search a bag on the floor and im lighting and extinguishing a torch.... Standing right over a glowing bag.. dont get an option to search it. I want to love this game but im so sick of fighting it.
Just curious about this because for me it's the Werewolf Decoction. I don't know why I never used it but I'm in my second playthrough, new game+, and I'm in Novigrad running from one end of the city to the next on foot with no need to rest or worry about my stamina because of this wonderful potion.
How'd I miss that the first playthrough? I had it almost the entire game. lol.
The thing that is most frustrating about this game is the map. I cannot figure it out. I'm always lost. Map screen makes little sense and a lot of times the point of interest for the quest is in a weird place you can't get to. I'm in chapter 2 trying to get to the place of power and I have no idea how to find it.
I have been playing Witcher 2 for a couple hours, made a few decisions, and gotten a few people killed in the process.
I’m okay with making mistakes when I feel I understand the decision I am making, in story. But I would like to avoid mistakes that I make simply by not understanding game mechanics.
The first one was letting Newboy get killed when he went into battle without armor. My reasoning there was that I was hustling off to get to the king, and although “open world” games don’t usually track your time (as in, stopping to do one quest makes you fail another quest because you take too long getting to it), I have had that happen to me at least once — In AC Odyssey, the game gave me a bad outcome because I did one quest before another — something about being too slow getting back with medicine.
But what is more typical is that if a character asks you to meet him at midnight in the square, you can go off and do other quests for weeks, and when you return, he will still be waiting for you there.
Ideally, I would prefer to play this game as though I can freely do any quest without worrying about the fact that technically that means I’m making people wait in the other quests. But I would like to double check that that is the case with this game.
TLDR: If I’m on my way to do one quest, and I stop for two other side quests, will I ever be punished because I did too many things before completing the first quest?
Before I start this review, I want to everyone to know that I played this game in January 2022 more than a decade after its release & mind you I have done 2 full playthroughs of the its Sequel the Witcher 3. I shall try my best to be unbiased and avoid any kind of fanboyism. Also, will NOT compare it to the latest gen games released in the previous 8 to 10 years.
A decade ago back in 2010 & 2011 the AAA games of the RPG category were
2010: i) Red Dead Redemption ii) Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood iii) God of War 3 2011: i) Batman Arkham City ii) The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim iii) Darks Souls iv) Uncharted 3 v) Assassin's Creed: Revelations
