None of your objections are wrong. but unfortunately, Black Lilith games in general are about stupid contrivances to create a situation where the female leads can be horribly sexually tortured. The way in James Bond movies, someone needs to fuck up to the point of bringing him in in the first place.
But that’s overall why I prefer RPGX or Action. They are not perfect, but at least sometimes the heroes get a win.
Yeah, I know that the point of the Taimanin VNs is to deliver tortured women for fun and profit. I also know that pointing out the nonsensical situations is kinda pointless. I'm just in the middle of trying to write some Taimanin fanfiction that verges on a fixfic of sorts, but it seems like the worldbuilding itself is antithetical to anything going right for anybody who isn't cartoonishly evil.
I mean, take the idea that Edwin Black is essentially on the cusp of total victory for the entire series and ends up destroying both the world and the demon world at the end of TA3. That means that for all of the rest of the VNs, it's like that part in Watchmen when its already too late to achieve victory, and none of the heroes know it. No matter what Yukikaze, Sakura, or anybody but Asagi does, they've already lost, and Asagi is more or less in the same boat.
And I understand the preference for RPGX, or for Action Taimanin. I'm just not a huge fan of hack'n'slash gameplay, and I hate Fuuma Kotaro. He's like the Taimanin version of Kirito, from where I sit, in terms of being an overpowered audience insert who seems to be the only person capable of actually making a difference. The fact that every other non-femboy male character gets utterly usurped so Kotaro can have a harem doesn't endear me to him either.
On the other hand, having a game where defeat isn't the only possibility is nice. I just wish that Lilith actually put effort into writing good plots, instead of just handing out idiot balls with abandon. Like, the entire plot of the most recent VN, Mama wa Taimanin, requires every female character to be a complete idiot without any problem solving ability. It's just nuts.
