What's the consensus on Long Beach, CA? I've lived here for 5 years and really love it. It's close to the beach, but feels more urban with a lot of high rises and density in DTLB. Many different neighborhoods with unique characteristics. Amazing Thai and Mexican food. Good weather. Great art and music scene for a small/mid city.

The Seal beach suggestion is a great one. Long Beach is a cool city, great restaurants, coffee shops, cool people but the homeless situation is exhausting. Pasadena is a completely different vibe, definitely felt much safer, but not an LA vibe at all if that is what your after, cute sort of quaint.

If you can afford it, the best neighborhoods to live in (with kids of school age etc) in Long Beach is belmont shore/Naples, belmont heights, belmont park, park estates, areas around el dorado park.
What are your thoughts on Long Beach? I am Moving to LA.. I'm torn on which area to live in. I want to live where things are more walkable, the rent there is cheaper than Santa Monica and I was looking into sawtelle area… please give your opinions! Thank you!
