Do these plastic jump packs from gw fit MKIV marines?
For everything to do with Forgeworld and the Horus Heresy. This includes 30k and 30k vs 40k battle reports; army list feedback and reviews; pictures of legion, mechanicum, and other 30k models; painting and modelling, and horus heresy novels and lore discussion.
Just about but it's not perfect. You might need to file down part of the mark 4 marines back.
I mean i didn't find any other alternatives. Is it a lot of filing or rather simple? If it's only a bit that's not a problem
Yes, they fit really well in my opinion. You need to trim the a little bit off the top of the nub to get it to fit, but it's really easy
So I've converted all of my Mark 6 to have these jump packs and like other people have said, it doesn't quite fit, I've ended up just trimming the back plugs off and gluing them on the flat plastic :)
Are these jump packs lore accurate? Wondering because I hate the look of the rotor jump packs the forge world guys have and think these look way better.
I do not remember where I read it, but I think they are a post-siege model.
Dominion Zephon has a twin-engine jump pack, and I think that is the precursor to this one.
I think they're good for mk6 marines, but I'm not sure it's been officially confirmed anywhere. Mk 2-5 all use that horrid dual-jet pack, except oddly an advanced pack used with the Mk4 armour which looks like the modern sanguinary guard jump pack with a single main thruster and two small manoeuvring thrusters.
they would be accurate for the siege of terra, but you could say they're using some prototype ones, i added some pipes to mine, as posted on my profile
I think these are like the "late stage Heresy" model, somewhat akin to the mkV armor. Like, "We're running out of the good stuff so we need something cheap and fast that works."
I wouldn't mind if my opponent was using them, and I'm using some myself!
They’re late heresy/scouring era but with mark VI being available to traitor legions now, they’re not any more lore breaking. Pretty sure this is the original plastic jump pack, still. Certainly it’s the model on all the non-special characters in mark vi armor, which even includes the currently available assault marines kit.
Just tip: the blood angels death company has 5 jump packs plus a whole bunch of other stuff for like $30
You can file off the BA icons for the most part of that bothers you
This jump pack sprue is like $9 on the GW website.
I've used the mk4 jump packs because I prefer the aesthetic but yeah just clipped off the back nubbing and wacked some glue on there
Where did you find separate mk4 jumppacks?
I've even fit some of them to my Primaris Marines, and it fits those quite well. Just need to shave off the connector nub. For the MKIV Marines, probably even less than that.
