Destiny’s “hamster wheel” model of content isn’t working for me anymore
I'm getting tired of how bungie treats celestial nighthawk
Don't sleep on Skyburner's Oath for this week's Nightfall
Pinnacle rewards should either drop to your lowest level weapon/armor slot, or guarantee a relative +1 to gear you have in the slot it dropped in.
GM Nightfalls are here and my Artifice Armor still doesn't work
Id gladly take reduced eververse engram drops if it meant a guaranteed new item every time

To preface, I love grindy games. Seriously, I love a game I can just sink hours and hours into pursuing one goal, and then move on to the next, slowly growing my power and stockpiling achievements and accomplishments along the way. I don’t even want to talk about how many hours I have in RuneScape, and that game is notoriously one of the most, if not the most, grindy game of all time.
The “grind” in Destiny has me sick to death, for one reason: there’s absolutely no progress. Everything I “accomplish” is quickly wiped away come the end of a Season.
Power Cap? Haven’t even tried to hit it this Season. I’m bored of doing the same activities over and over again for marginal boosts in power week after week. Just to do it all again with the same gear and the same activities next season. All so I can power up to do the same Raids, the same GMs, the same whatever’s and get the same loot over and over again.
Vendor Ranks? Forget about it. I’ve capped out on Vanguard and Gambit and Crucible rank more times than I can count. Setting aside the fact that Strikes are completely unchallenging, Gambit is a total embarrassment, and Crucible is maybe the worst PvP I’ve ever seen in a triple-A game, these core playlists have not significantly changed in five years. And we’re ushered back into them over and over again to meet the same tired grinds.
Now of course, new Seasons come with activities and weapon crafting to grind out, but let’s not pretend like any of this stuff breaks up the monotony of the Destiny formula. Seasonal activities boil down to the same variations of wave-based combat with a few minuscule mechanics thrown in to mix things up. And weapon crafting is achieved by just doing that activity over and over again over weeks and weeks. Maybe grab a few seasonal vendor upgrades along the way, just like you did last season and the one before and the one before and the…
A good grind should be satisfying to finish, and leave you with something distinctly new that you’ve gained from the experience. Destiny never does that. Each season, you’re implored to repeated the exact same grind you just completed for virtually identical rewards, and it sucks . At the end of a long and deeply tedious seasonal grind, I’m never left with the feeling of triumph that I get from any other grindy game: the feeling of finishing that task I set out to complete, of earning something new and unique. I’m usually just grotesquely thankful that for now I’ve finished the time-gated grind before I have to do it all over again in a month.
The Hawk has had a bit of a controversial history. thrice it has been the single highest damaging super in game and while it was admittedly hilarious to 6 shot raid bosses, it got the last of its much needed balance patches around the end of 2019.
And then bungie has consciously (and sometimes inadvertently) just keep nerfing this exotic despite no one in their right mind asking for it. Two years ago bungie severely nerfed the damage multiplier from 6x to 3x and every season when one shot super exotics like falling star get adjusted to compensate for new seasonal values nighthawk does not leaving it one of the weakest single shot dps supers in the game. This could have been fine enough as is as it still charged relatively fast....except they then lowered orb of power value + lowered practice make's perfects charge boost. But even this i could have accepted until this season with the removal of practice makes perfect, greatly increasing the charge time of golden gun and by proxy celestial nighthawk with zero benefits added to compensate (note radiance does stack with nighthawk, but it seems to be hard capped around 15%).
of all the super altering exotics in game nighthawk has massive drawbacks for its now greatly diminished upside.
Just to name them off when using nighthawk you
lose access to some of your best CC synergies ( Hawk and marksman do have keyhole + combustion together, but you will rarely if ever use it on non champion and ultra type enemies)
access to the deadshot GG as nighthawk auto deactivates on use hard capping refunded rounds to your single shot ( thus completely removing any and all CC abilities from anything that isnt the blast radius and removing any ignition synergy )
a nearly 10 minuet cooldown ( no more practice makes perfect to cool that off to a more manageable 7-8m )
loss of two of your GG shots so if you body shot you lose 55% of your damage
Minimal super armor (GG has some of the lowest super armor values in the game even with on your mark)
have a slightly increased distance before super damage falloff (note you will almost never experience this though using nighthawk as you're often pretty close to avoid missing )
Thats a hell of a lot of drawbacks for only 3x damage. So lets compare it to two other super boosting exotics Orphius and Star-eaters
Skyburner's Oath is probably the best weapon for this week's Nightfall. You get bonus damage on Cabals, so like 99% of the enemies. You get free scorch off the hip-fire, you can stun Unstops when you ads and you can shoot through Phalanxes shields.
But the best part is, you can shoot through those big orange dome shields, making the "destroying the battery" part ridiculously easy.
Oh and you get bonus damage from the Solar singe
Getting multiple Pinnacle drops that match the level of gear you already had in that slot feels virtually wasted, especially when it happens multiple times in a row. Many of us are willing to do activities we'd prefer not to do for pinnacle rewards, but feel burned when it doesn't progress you even slightly. This would make these activities feel more rewarding and wouldn't discourage participation in them.
I'm not trying to be toxic or encourage harassment of any kind.
I'm extremely pissed that my full set of Artifice Armor from GoA has been not working since the beginning of the season and is still busted.
It's main purpose is for endgame and I can't even utilize it.
Hell make it so you only get bright engrams every 10-15 levels after season rank 100. If I knew I'd be getting something new every time, I'd absolutely do more bounties and try to earn them!

Doesn't C lead us to A? When you don't know something, anything is technically possible. We can't know the exact likelihood, which means it could be greater than zero.
Wrong. "anything is technically possible" is incorrect. How would you determine whether something is possible or not?
Dan's question is actually interesting in that it shows why so many Bayesians end up with totally wacky culty communities.
The basic formula is to assign a nonzero chance to a unbearably bad outcome and then opine on what set of wacky actions are required to avoid that outcome. The quintessential example is something like Roko's basalisk.
lol weren't some people legit scared of that

Twitch attributed the ban to "hateful conduct" on the part of the streamer.
A politics-focused streamer called Destiny has been indefinitely banned from Twitch. A screenshot Destiny shared (opens in new tab) to his subreddit indicates that the ban can only be lifted on appeal, and that it was applied for "Promoting, encouraging, or facilitating the discrimination or denigration of a group of people based on their protected characteristics."
Twitch has not provided a definitive motivation for the ban beyond that, but Destiny said in a Reddit post (opens in new tab) that he believes it was imposed "because of my claims that transwomen shouldn't compete with ciswomen in women's athletics," due of the likelihood that they'll dominate in their fields. That belief, expressed earlier this month, attracted widespread criticism on social media.
Another potential cause, noted by Dot Esports (opens in new tab) , is a recent "debate" Destiny held with white nationalist Nick Fuentes. Fuentes was banned from Twitch in 2019, and Twitch guidelines prohibit streaming with banned streamers. Destiny's stream with Fuentes was apparently only live on Twitch for a brief time, but still long enough to result in a policy violation. Fuentes was also recently implicated in an uptick of " hate raids (opens in new tab) " against women and LGBTQ+ streamers on Twitch.
This is not Destiny's first suspension from Twitch. He's been banned at least six times previously, in fact, and lost his Twitch partnership (opens in new tab) in 2020 for "encouraging violence" after he gave his "blessing" to "white redneck militia dudes mowing down dipshit protesters." That history may explain why this most recent suspension was made indefinite.
We initially reported that his suspension may have been related to this clip (opens in new tab) , in which Destiny muses about the gender affirmation surgery of a rival streamer and mentions the temptation of "41% jokes," a reference to the rate of suicide attempts reported by trans people in the United States in the 2012 National Transgender Discrimination Survey (opens in new tab) . That video was actually posted after the suspension, however: In it, he says he'll probably appeal his ban at some point in the future so he can take part in other people's streams. At the same time, it seems clear that he's unwilling to reconsider his position, which could make a successful appeal unlikely.
This isn't the first time Twitch has opted for an indefinite permanent ban against a high-profile streamer. Dr Disrespect was famously kicked off the platform and only settled his lawsuit with the site (opens in new tab) this month. While no party "admits to any wrongdoing," he will not be returning to the platform. Chess Grandmaster Hikaru Nakamura was unfortunately caught in the crossfire when he streamed himself analyzing Dr Disrespect's chess play and received a temporary ban (opens in new tab) .
