In 2012, Lotte Reimann learned about “reflectoporn,” an internet trend in which people strip, position shiny objects to reflect their naked bodies, and then take photos of them to post on websites like eBay. She wondered if this was a form of exhibitionism, or if it was more often accidental. Intrigued, she wanted to find someone purposefully posting these kinds of images, but after two months of searching, she came across lots of reflectoporn pictures, but not a single contact. She couldn’t find what she calls an “entrance into the world,” and began thinking that maybe it didn’t even really exist—that it was just a fetish listed on a Wikipedia entry, but with no active practitioners. She decided, then, to do it herself: She took some reflectoporn with her own objects, and posted them for sale on her eBay account, in the hopes of getting others posting reflectoporn to message her. Not long after, she was informed that her account had been suspended because her materials were, according to an email from eBay, “adult in nature.”
The result of her experiment is a new project titled “Reflections—An Unfinished Collection,” a portion of which is featured here. The overall series is a mix of both her own images, and those she found online. There are nudes reflected onto scanners, cellphones, silver-colored bike helmets, and more. For now, she’s leaving “unfinished” in the title—as a reference to her failure in discovering more about this unique corner of the world wide web, and as a way to continue the series, should additional information come to light.

The misfortune of sexting pics to your parents is not something you want to do in any way, shape, or form. But cringingly that's exactly what's happened to these unfortunate women, who have learnt the hard way the dangers of our interconnected, instant messaging times. Because lets face it, if you are going to send sexting pics to the wrong person, your parents will be the last people on earth you would choose to be the recipient.
Alas, accidents happen and sending a text to your parents by mistake is something many of us have done. But it's fine when that text was to your significant other just asking if they could wash the dishes. It's something else altogether when you're sexting pics to a beloved and they go, not just to the wrong person. But to mom or dad.
But it gets worse, much, much worse. Sometimes the sexting pics misfortune between parents and children can get horrifically reversed, conversely, when mom (or dear God forbid dad), accidentally sexts their kids—which there are a few examples of here too, just in the name of fairness to balance things out.
Of course parents aren't totally naive, they understand that 'send nudes' is something that goes on among their sons and daughters. But Christ, they don't want it shoved in their face by actually receiving those explicit pics. Equally, children don't want to be on the receiving end of sexting pics of their mom in compromising positions.
The lesson to be taken from all this is that, whoever you're sending messages to, just be extra, extra careful when sexting pics to someone. Check that phone number. Then check it again. Then check it again. And maybe again just for luck. Then if you're really sure, press send. But just remember that once that send button is pressed, it can't be undone. Always remember, whatever has been seen can never be unseen . Ever.
