The Yellow Umbrella – An Unfinished Conversation
Performance de 60 minutes regroupant 12 interprètes féminines en interaction avec des parapluies jaunes, The Yellow Umbrella – An Unfinished Conversation est un symbole de protection, mais aussi un signe de résistance. Clin d’œil manifeste à la Révolution des parapluies symbole de protestation à Hong Hong du mouvement « Occupy Central » qui a secoué, cet automne, la ville la plus riche de Chine. Quête d’un croisement où esthétique et politique sont les catalyseurs, cette performance explore la façon dont des comportements symboliques et situationnels déterminent la perception que nous avons d’un mouvement ou d’un changement social donné.

« To Rebel is Justified » était le slogan employé par les gardes rouges lors de la révolution culturelle pour éradiquer les « valeurs traditionnelles chinoises ». Au nom de la Révolution, ces jeunes rebelles révolutionnaires ont commis de terribles excès : humiliations publiques et exécutions d’intellectuels, etc.
Chun Hua Catherine Dong se met elle-même en scène et personnifie un garde rouge imaginaire. Vêtue d’un uniforme militaire, l’antirévolutionnaire du XXI e siècle explore la vulnérabilité humaine dans un contexte d’humiliation rituelle. Dans un détournement de sens et de symboles, la « garde rouge » Dong accueille Mao Tsé-toung dans une porcherie plutôt qu’à la place Tian’anmen. Tantôt attachée sur une chaise dans une classe d’école, tantôt agenouillée dans une salle de bain, la performeuse se prête au jeu de la soumission érotique.
Avec To Rebel is Justified l’artiste revisite dans un contexte performatif cette période sombre de l’Empire du Milieu. L’exposition regroupe un corpus de douze photographies grand format capturées en Chine en 2013. Une vidéo et des photographies de la performance The Yellow Umbrella – An Unfinished Conversation figurent également à l’exposition.
Chun Hua Catherine Dong et le détournement de sens
Les créations de Chun Hua Catherine Dong démontrent une réalité construite où les frontières entre privé et public, sujets et objets, art et vie, sont brouillées. D’origine chinoise, Dong utilise régulièrement le corps nu, le sien, dans sa pratique performative. En occupant, l’espace privé et public, elle explore des phénomènes culturels pour comprendre la vie sociale de l’être humain. Les performances de cette artiste iconoclaste, établie maintenant à Montréal, ont été proposées en Asie, en Amérique du Nord et en Europe, notamment au Ulster Performing Arts Center à New York, à l’ Infr’Action Venezia Performance Festival à Venise et à l’ Internationales Festival Für Performance à Cologne.
Parmi ses performances notables mentionnons Pregnancy présentée l’an dernier en Irlande. Invitée à performer lors de la Campagne du droit à l’avortement au Dublin Live Art Festival , Dong « se transforme » en femme enceinte et s’enferme durant six heures dans une cage à chien. Citons également The Double (2014), une œuvre saisissante qui exprime la vulnérabilité et la honte présentée, entre autres, à la 9 e Biennale Kaunas et au M. K. Čiurlionis National Museum of Art (Lituanie) ainsi qu’à la Nuit blanche à Montréal. Performance regroupant 16 femmes vêtues de serviettes blanches et portant d’énormes lèvres rouges en plastique ( mouthpiece ) qui les empêchent de parler, de s’exprimer. Jeux de mots habiles puisque « mouthpiece » désigne autant l’ embouchure d’un instrument de musique , un porte-parole ou un embout médical !
Chun Hua Catherine Dong est lauréate de nombreux prix, dont la bourse Franklin Furnace pour les arts d’avant-garde qui lui a été décernée à New York, en 2014. Son travail de performance apparaît dans le palmarès des « neuf meilleurs projets d’art politique » de 2010 dans le magazine canadien Art and Threat , parmi des artistes reconnus internationalement tels Rebecca Belmore et Wafaa Bilal.

L’équipe du Regroupement des centres d’artistes autogérés du Québec (RCAAQ) œuvre à Tiohtiá:ke / Mooniyang / Montréal sur le territoire traditionnel du peuple Kanien’kehá:ka de la confédération Haudenosaunee. Montréal a toujours été un lieu de rencontre pour de nombreuses nations autochtones et l’est maintenant aussi pour tous les autres peuples qui y résident.

The tipped inserts are mainly used for the turning of the hard metals and also the most conventional option for machining. These inserts are manufactured especially for different types of technologies and other advanced material processes. These are highly beneficial and have different characteristics and advantages. These are better and cheaper than that of the solid inserts and also offer a better surface finishing. Advantage of tipped pcbn inserts is the lower cost than solid cbn inserts and solid corner pcbn inserts , tipped insert is one use only economical type, it requires a carrier like tungsten carbide base as substrate for the insert, and substrate have a pocket that will accommodate and support the tip, the working tips are brazed to tungsten carbide base, 1~4 tips depends on different insert shapes, this braze joint of tipped pcbn inserts represents the weak link not so good as solid cbn inserts and thoroughly brazed pcbn inserts, the maximum cutting depth is not more than 80% of the tip length.

So, they are pretty much durable and can last for a long time. When these inserts cut the hard metal for machining it produce an extreme temperature. It also has a high wear resistant power with a long service life. They are also available in affordable prices and thus industries do not have to spend a lot over these inserts. It has a superior processing precision and with all these qualities and benefits, these inserts are grabbing a great position in market place worldwide.
