r/Chiraqology, a subreddit to discuss drill music and Chicago gang culture.
Imagine if they didn't glorify gun violence and actually cared about the community they come from when they make it out
Or imagine if their communities had access to resources like jobs (means to money) after school programs (ways to keep them out of trouble) or quality health centers (ways to protect their livelihood)
Glorifying gun violence is when a white kid shoots up a school with an AR-15 after playing call of duty and inhaling whippets all day
The latter part of the post is exactly what everyone should think about
I think most people who engage in this shit heavily are literal children who feel so far removed from the violence it’s as real as a TV show or movie is/ Goofy ass niggas who really in this shit and love the clout associated w it/ LITERAL DICKRIDERS/ GOSSIP BLOGS/Law enforcement looking to get a scoop. I don’t think there’s a significant amount of people engaging in these forums consciously encouraging the death of black men specifically. I may be wrong.
I think you’re right about who participates…kids…lames/dick riders..and police…I definitely think that
I just disagree about them encouraging it…they do it indirectly…I think it’s become the norm for the world to look at black people as less than…the reason why I say that is look at the quality of the comments…for all the groups of people you named (kids, lames and police) the common interest they share is this sub and how they participate…I prolly never seen Chiraqology post about black men winning basketball/baseball tournaments…black men doing anything positive
Kids - view it as wrestling and pick their favorite characters to kill others
Lames/Dick Riders - act like they know the streets and promote a side (maybe even both sides) to kill others
Police - instigate the discussions or act as undercovers to get information. As a branch of the government they don’t participate in STOPPING violence they only do cleanup after it’s all done.
as a white guy from europe i always wonder how much black people could achieve if they would work together against corrupt racist old politicians. it sadly is a cycle, politicians don't fund education enough in these neighborhoods on purpose and as a result the people turn on themselves because they don't know any better.
