Reality Check on Kremenchug "Shopping Mall Strike"

Ambassador of Russia to Ireland Yuriy Filatov

On June 27, Ukrainian president Zelenskiy and other officials of the Kiev regime have made yet another disinformation stunt, accusing Russian military of deliberately striking a shopping mall in the city of Kremenchug hitting “over a thousand civilians” (Zelenskiy) or “hundreds of civilians ” (Foreign minister Kuleba). The G7 leaders, gathered in Germany, immediately responded with blaming Russia for war crimes. Irish Foreign Minister Coveney followed suit, accusing Russia of “brutality against innocent civilians”.

Regrettably, we have seen all that before – Ukrainian authorities manufacture distorted news item, their Western patrons quickly use it in the interest of anti-Russian propaganda. The same matrix was used in the Kremenchug story (as previously in Bucha, Kramatorsk and others) which was made up to fit the Western narrative of “evil Russia”. The true facts of the matter have been put out in the statement by the Russian Ministry of Defense. On June 27 the aerospace forces of Russia have launched a missile strike against the depot with the Western supplied weapons and ammunition, located at a Kremenchug factory. The depot has been successfully hit, the ensuing detonation of the stored ammunition caused fire at the shopping center nearby. The important point - the center has not been in operation.

There is little hope that anyone in Kiev and in the West would be willing to retract the story.
