::Drum Roll Please::

 Introducing the Design Board

Every new venture needs a guiding light, a set of goals; visible inspiration that will mold the idea that is in your head into the real life model that you were hoping and dreaming for.

This is especially true of weddings! With literally thousands of components involved in a wedding, in order to bring those bad cauliflower longings and ideas to life you need to have a clear idea of what you want it to look like, and how you want it to function.

The very first thing that we do after booking a client (besides thanking them and welcoming them to the family) is to get them started on articulating their desires for their wedding.

Each and every Bride and Groom receive a specialized packet from us that is completely personalized. Inside they find goodies after goodies, but most importantly they receive a sheet of paper that will help to draw out of them their highest hopes and design ideas for their wedding day.

This piece of paper is so crucial because from this we will choose the most perfect vendors for them, design their flowers and stationary, help to choose the location of the wedding and ceremony, and so much more.

We take their ideas and we translate it into a design board (both a digital file and a real life design board that is made of cork) that literally influences every facet of their wedding.

Kate originally wanted a fall wedding, with colors of burnt amber, sunny yellow and cream.

After only one week and a little more drawing out she realized that she was only choosing those colors because they seemed appropriate for the time of year she was getting married (November) and were not truly what she wanted.

 Kate and Scott are a very laid back comfortable couple. Easy, Breezy and Sunny are their disposition.

They both love the ocean and the idea of a beach wedding so we turned it around and started from scratch!

The colors we decided on were Honey Suckle, Ivory, Sailor, Windsor Blue and Pistachio, with elements heavier on the cool blue side as opposed to the green.

She loves natural elements like driftwood, sand, burlap etc... and so we started from the ground up pulling it all together.

What you see above is her digital design board (which we, of course, sent to all of her vendors to keep them in the loop and excited about the wedding)

We had many projects that we kept careful track of and documented most of them so we could share them with you!

Stay tuned for the next installment, we will be talking about her centerpieces and a great DIY project of wood burning!!
