The Fifty Shades of Grey movie is filled with leather riding crops, satin blindfolds, and plenty of bondage, but let's be honest: There was some great stuff from the book that the film left out. Sure, it delivered for the most part (roughly 20 minutes out of 118 were sex scenes (opens in new tab) —we timed it), but Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey's physical relationship on the big screen was relatively tame. Let's call it BDSM lite.
And actually, the more scintillating scenes made Fifty Shades the boundary-pushing book fans love—and we're thinking they definitely could have been incorporated into the film with a little careful editing and innuendo.
RIP, tampon scene. We hardly knew ye.
Welcome to Fifty Shades' s amazing and somewhat hilarious thumb-sucking scene, which takes place directly after Ana loses her virginity. While it's somewhat understandable that this scene was cut from the film, it does serve a purpose. Ana and Christian's first time was virginal and vanilla, and by immediately following it up with Christian exerting his dominant and somewhat fetishistic behavior, the reader is reminded of what he's really capable of. (Note: Ana also has sex from behind for the first time in this scene!)
2. Ana Gives Christian Oral in the Bath
Make no mistake: Ana and Christian enjoy a sudsy bath during themovie, but Ana's first blow job is completely cut out of the equation. We're thinking it was probably in an effort to keep the film's R rating.
Anastasia enjoys just one overt moment of dominance over Christian in the book version of Fifty Shades . She undresses him, announces that she's "in charge," and even uses some of his classic lines like "You'll have to learn to keep still." Depending on your interpretation, this scene potentially gives some semblance of (much-needed) equality to Ana and Christian's relationship.
4. Christian Pops a Couple Ben Wa Balls into Ana
Remember when Christian placed two silver balls in Ana's vagina and asked her to walk around with them in her before eventually doing the deed? Yeah, that didn't happen in the movie. While the moment could have been recreated without being too overtly explicit, it likely got axed due to the abundance of steamier scenes. Plus, if producers had made time for vaginal balls, poor Rita Ora might have been cut out completely.
5. Christian Pulls Out Ana's Tampon (Yeah...)
There's clearly no way that this particular scene could have been included in the film, mostly because it involves Christian being turned on by taboo sex. But what's the problem, really ? Periods are part of everyday life for half the population, and it's pretty great that Christian doesn't care about Ana bleeding. In fact, if it weren't for his abundant control issues, this could almost be considered a feminist moment for Mr. Grey.

Going into a little more detail, Dakota said that the strapless thongs were like "nipple pasties, but underwear", and that she wore two. Even she said that it was "fucking bizarre".
According to Dakota , "Jamie mostly had an adviser that was on set for the first film, not so much for the second."

He also opens up about his and Dakota Johnson's "brother-sister" relationship.
Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson have been filming the Fifty Shades trilogy together for a few years now. At this point, do they just dive right into the sex scenes like a married couple?
The actor addressed his relationship with his costar on Jimmy Kimmel Live! "This is gonna sound bad, but it's almost like brother-sister," Dornan said with a laugh.
"You know, because I am married and she's had quite a lot of relationships in the time that we've known each other, so that's happening in our own lives," he continued. "And we just have that sort of mutual love and respect for each other, and I feel like we know each other so well and intimately."
Though they're comfortable filming together, the set is still closed off when the sex scenes are filmed, and only a small crew is present. Dornan also isn't completely naked for those sequences.
"I wear like a wee bag," he said, referring to the modesty sock actors use to cover up during nude scenes.
"That's an expression I say from where I'm from, a 'wee bag,' but it doesn't mean it's actually 'wee' inside," he clarified. "I wear, like, quite a big bag."
The audience was screaming at this point.
Dornan doesn't keep his own bag (though he'd "love to get to that stage"). Instead, he picked one out on set. When he shot the first Fifty Shades film, he thought he'd be choosing from a fresh set of cover-ups, but he was wrong.
"I sort of picked one that I liked the look of and the shape of, and I picked it up and then in the seam, it said 'Inmate #3'. It was like sewn in," Dornan said. "I was like sh*t! This has been used before."
But he wore it on set anyway. "I just sort of, like, mind over matter, just closed my eyes," the actor said.
Fifty Shades Freed hits theaters on February 9. Watch the trailer below.
