A mother has revealed that she showers with her adult daughter every morning and. even takes the time to scrub her back and wash her hair as if she is still a little girl.
Mary, 55, and Brittani, 19, from Jensen Beach, Florida, are one of the six uncomfortably close mother-daughter duos documenting their over-the-top relationship on the second season of TLC's hit reality series sMothered.
'I have been taking showers and helping Brittani since she was five,' Mary says in a preview clip from the series, which premieres on Sunday,

Mary can be seen hopping in the shower with her daughter, telling her to 'move it over, baby,' as she steps inside and closes the sliding door.
'Ah, that feels so good,' she says when the hot water hits her.
'The best way to start our day is in the shower,' Mary explains in her testimonial.
The mom takes over shampooing Brittani's hair for her and then asks her to stay still so she can also scrub her back with soap.
'You need to tan or something, honey. You're so white,' Mary tells her daughter as she washes her.

While some would find Mary's behavior overbearing, Brittani insists she is happy about their daily shower routine.
'When my mom does simple things like washing my hair or my body, it makes me feel comforted,' she explains.
Mary is also content with their situation and doesn't care if anyone thinks it's weird.
'I love her, and I don't see anything wrong with it,' she says, though she admits she never imagined she would be this close to her daughter.
'I don't believe I set out to have a relationship this close to Brittani,' she says. 'It's something that was supposed to be.'
The mother and daughter have always lived together, and Brittani notes that if she moved away, her mom 'would probably die from separation anxiety.'
'She's probably right,' Mary agrees.
The mom told the New York Post that she started showering with Brittani when she was a child because she used to have panic attacks that they think were partly brought on by the hot water.
'That’s kind of how I started getting in the shower with her, just to comfort her because she would freak out,' she recalls. 'That grew into an every-other-day thing. When she was smaller, it was every day.'
When they're not showering together, they like to shop, get cosmetic surgery, and share a bed a night. Mary calls her daughter 'the love of my life.'
Their intense bond has gotten in the way of Mary's relationship with her live-in boyfriend, Frank, who reveals in the trailer for the show that he thinks it's time for Brittani to move out.
'It has caused some issues in my relationship, but he’s got to accept it,' Mary told The Post. 'That’s how it is. He knows I love him, but I love my daughter more — she’s my life.'

“sMothered,” TLC’s hit reality show co-produced by The Post, follows several mother-daughter duos with intensely close bonds.
One pair is Chicago-based mom Kathy, 61, and daughter Cristina, 35, who refer to each other as their real “husbands,” much to the dismay of Cristina’s actual husband, Carlo.
The mom-and-daughter pair are among the show’s most colorful, and could easily fit into a show like “Jersey Shore.” They regularly spend all day together, snoop into the love life of Cristina’s sister together, and in Season 2, they’re even living under the same roof while Cristina and Carlo’s house gets remodeled.
Kathy is helping Cristina design their new kitchen, even though Carlo is indignant that he’s not getting any say in it. “I think I have a say in what’s going on at my house!” he fumed in last week’s episode.
But remodeling isn’t all they do as a duo. In this exclusive clip from the eighth episode of Season 2, called “She’s My World,” watch Kathy and Cristina go for a mother-daughter bikini wax.
“We’re just getting our patches waxed,” Cristina says, adding it will be her mother’s first-ever wax.
And yes, they requested to be in the same room — a first for the salon.
“sMothered” airs Sundays at 10 p.m. on TLC.
