Photographer Liza Van Der Stock’s intimate project about a porn-producing family in Flanders was shortlisted for the 2015 Sony World Photography Awards.
In a Flemish village outside of Turnhout, Belgium, Laura and Maurice live together with their daughter Eva. They have all the trappings of a normal family, but when 9-year-old Eva is at school, Maurice and Laura start their day jobs as porn producers.
I photographed the family for two years for my project called Paradi$e Lu$t. They’ve given me unfettered access to both their personal and professional lives. The duo, more than anything, are small business owners: together they started a production company called “Stout!” around a decade ago. It’s still a modest operation: they produce the movies and both work the camera. And, from time to time, they are the porn stars as well.
Like Maurice and Laura, their other actors are ordinary people. They’re fathers and neighbors. Salesmen and postmen. The sex and the bodies are very real, not fake, not glamorous.
Maurice and Laura used to live above an erotic club they owned and filmed in, but they moved out to the quieter village once Eva got a little older. The most interesting thing about the village life was the process of gaining their new community’s acceptance. When Eva was new in her school there were some children who couldn’t play with her because their parents didn’t allow it. Laura really wanted everybody to accept them, so she threw a very big party for Eva’s birthday. She cleaned the house for two days and made it totally sex-free. She invited everybody from the school, also the parents. People came to realize that they are just normal people and since then she organizes the party each year.
Maurice and Laura are always very honest with Eva. They don’t want to lie to her. But of course they informed her about their job in words she can understand. She knows that they had a bar where naked people came to have a drink and to dance. Eva has a really good relationship with her parents and their job has never been an obstacle. And in my time with them, I saw a warm family with a very normal life that really separated their work life from their personal life. A moment I remember very well was when Eva received her first communion in church. Laura was very involved in the ceremony and afterwards there was a party in their new café. Friends and family came along and it was a very good day. In the porn Laura and Maurice make, actors are captured on tape as they are. My project aims to portray the family with that same humanity.

EXCLUSIVE: Two construction workers apparently got up close and personal with Princess Diana .
British author Tom Quinn recently released a new book titled “Kensington Palace: An Intimate Memoir from Queen Mary to Meghan Markle,” where he spoke to those who worked for the British royals over the years. It was during his talks with palace insiders that Quinn learned some surprising stories about the Princess of Wales .
“It’s surprising,” Quinn told Fox News. “I was more surprised than anyone when I discovered -- you know, there are so many stories about the late Diana, Princess of Wales. I thought, ‘Well, there can’t be many more that people haven’t heard.’ But in talking to various people, I found some wonderful stuff.”
According to Quinn, Diana used to enjoy sunbathing in the buff in her rooftop garden of Kensington Palace, where she believed the area was safe from hovering helicopters and pesky paparazzi.

“She loved sunbathing,” said Queen. “This was the ‘90s. There wasn’t so much worry about cancer scares and so on. She used to sunbathe on a flat roof at Kensington Palace.”
According to the book, Diana’s palace aides warned the royal that many choppers did have high-resolution binoculars. However, Diana felt secure in her personal haven away from the public eye -- at least until something went wrong.
“Somebody had done something with one of the screens,” Quinn explained. “There were small trees in troughs around the flat roof and she hadn’t noticed it had been taken away. So she stood up with no clothes on and then immediately realized two builders who were working a hundred yards away. She was eye to eye with them. They’d seen her standing up and no clothes on. And the two builders immediately just bowed and turned away.”
A footman later noted, “They may have just been builders, but they were gentlemen all the same.”
But not all the stories Quinn discovered about Diana, a royal who relished dressing up in disguise to enjoy a sense of normalcy outside of the palace, were comical. Palace insiders also alleged that Diana and her then-husband Prince Charles were often heard arguing from their Kensington Palace apartments.

A former communications staffer alleged, “You could hear them rowing almost from the day they moved in.”
Quinn wasn’t surprised by the claims.
“They were almost maneuvered together because she was from a very ancient English family,” he explained. “And Charles needed someone who was young [who] could have children. I’m not sure they were well-suited, but they were maneuvered together by the royal establishment.
The quarrels were purportedly over Charles’ alleged mistress, Camilla Parker-Bowles .
“If you look at the film of the wedding day, there’s a tension and unease,” said Quinn. “… Camilla and Charles had a relationship before Diana and I think Diana rather naively thought that the relationship would end. It was never going to happen… Camilla actually encouraged [Charles] to marry Diana because they thought Diana would be complacent. She was timid. They thought she would just accept the fact that Charles and Camilla would carry on seeing each other.”

“They completely underestimated her,” Quinn continued. “In fact, someone said to me that if you look very carefully at the wedding film, you can see Diana glance across because Camilla was actually there in the church when they got married… You can see from the outset that Charles and Diana's marriage was doomed because the cracks were there from the beginning.”
The couple divorced in 1996. And while the relationship came to an end, Quinn said that her boyfriend Dodi Fayed gave her a sense of happiness during the last year of her life.
Diana passed away in 1997 at age 36 from injuries she sustained from a car crash in Paris.
“I think Dodi made the last year of her life happier than they would have been,” said Quinn. “The royal family certainly disapproved. The establishment was very nervous about this [relationship]. I think the royal family was in despair, to some extent, because this wasn’t something they could control. And Dodi was trying desperately to be accepted in royal circles.”

Quinn alleged that aristocratic advisors of the British royal family “looked down” at Fayed.
“I think they were slightly exasperated with the whole Diana situation,” she said. “I think they saw her, to some extent, as a bit of a loose cannon. They didn’t know what she would do next. And they felt it was unsuitable that she should be going out with Dodi.”
However, Quinn shared that Diana, who was free from an unhappy marriage, was eager for what the future held for her, both publicly and personally.
“The thing above all else that the royal family wants to try to do and feels it has to do is control every situation,” he said. “And they couldn’t with Diana… When Diana fell in love, it tended to be incredibly passionate. She lost all sense of restraint. And I think that happened with Dodi… But people really did underestimate her.”

Pamela Fraser says she has "never been worried about what I look like"

"At my first event, I slung a towel over my shoulder and went down for breakfast - naked."
Events organiser Pamela Fraser, 27, went to her first naturism event 14 months ago. She's been to 20 since.
Spa days, archery, yoga, cider-tasting and even a Fawlty Towers-themed night with actors playing Basil, Sybil and Manuel - all without an item of clothing in sight.
She describes the first time she got naked at a large gathering as a "non-event', adding "you soon realise people aren't interested in what you look like."
On Saturday, she'll join around 300 others of all ages, paying up to £21 for a skinny dip at Blackpool's Sandcastle Water Park.
"It's no different to going swimming with your costume on," Pamela believes. "A lot of female costumes don't hide much anyway."
"The whole idea is you're stepping back from the stress of life and the feeling that you have to fit into a certain mould."
"You wouldn't take your work clothes with you when you go on holiday and when you go home you probably get changed.
"Sometimes I get in from work and take all my clothes off - that's me saying this is now my free time."
Pamela is one of 9,000 people who pay about £44 a year to be members of the British Naturism (BN) organisation.
It offers advice and support and organises days out and festivals - including NudeFest, NKD and Nudestock - across the UK.
Pamela had always found it "more comfortable" to be nude at home but began going to events after spotting a BN magazine while at work.
"Everyone looked so happy - it was really inviting and it looked like there was so much going on. I thought, 'How have I got to 25 and not heard about this?'"
"There are some people who think nudity and bottoms are really funny. But I think laughing at someone who has nothing on is rude."
Upcoming trips include two more swimming days in Stoke-on-Trent and Poole, naked-dining near Stevenage, a pétanque tournament in Norwich and a two-hour boat trip in Scotland.
But Saturday's swim has caused concern for some.
About 50 people signed a petition calling for Saturday's swim to be cancelled or to be made over-18s only. Children, it said, would be "at risk of being subject to abuse by sex offenders who may slip into the organisation unnoticed".
One self-employed woman who plans to go to the event says she has no concerns about taking her children.
The 38-year-old - who asked not to be named - said: "I do understand where people are coming from in asking 'how can it be safe?'. It's just like any area of life, you always want to protect your children.
"But some don't have an understanding of the community. I've never once been worried about anything. When you're in something, it can often be very different to what others might perceive from the outside."
Her family found naturism about eight years ago, she says, when they accidentally ended up on a nudist beach on holiday. After enjoying the "relaxed atmosphere" they were keen to find similar experiences elsewhere abroad and, finally, in the UK.
"The girls love the swimming events - the queues are much better than if you go on another day, " she said, speaking ahead of Saturday's swim.
"There are some times when my daughter might say she wants to wear her bikini bottoms - and that's fine of course. Then she gets there and they decide she doesn't need them. It's their choice to go naked if they want to but, if not, that's also fine."
And she thinks there might be an even greater benefit than queue-jumping.
"My eldest daughter's friends are becoming more concerned about what they look like but she says she doesn't. That really touches me as a parent: that she hasn't really taken on that societal body-conscious stuff.
"How can naturism not have influenced that?"
BN event organiser Mark Walsh says many new members are introduced to the group through other events aimed at "free and earthy" vegans, yoga fans and camping enthusiasts.
"Some of our events are open to non-members, which brings in new people," he said. "Otherwise we just do marketing the same as any other organisation - but mainly in nudist circles."
On Saturday the group will also attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the most people on a rollercoaster at Blackpool Pleasure Beach. The record was set in Southend in August 2010.
People can join on the day but are asked to sign-up via the website in advance.
"Our members are our life-blood," says Mr Walsh. "And when they get a crazy new idea, it's my job to make it happen."
