The life of a professional wrestler is gruelling. It’s a life of long hours on the road, followed by taking bumps inside the ring, followed by more hours on the road. Wrestlers are often tired, working for almost 300 days a year and hardly get time to spend with their family.
However, there have been a few lucky ones that have found their soul mate in the wrestling business. We take a look at the most renowned and prominent WWE couples.
Jimmy Uso and Naomi tied the knot in January 2014. They have been a prominent feature of the reality show Total Divas. Jimmy, along with brother Jey, forms one of the better tag teams in the WWE. They have held tag team gold a couple of times in the company.
Naomi, on the other hand, debuted as one-half on the Funkadactyls cheerleading for Brodus Clay. Since then, she has come up a long way and is a singles competitor on SmackDown Live.
Kidd was the last graduate of the infamous Hart Dungeon. He met Natalya while training under the Hart family and the two started dating in 2001. They were married in 2013 and their wedding was featured on Total Divas. Unfortunately, Tyson Kidd was severely injured while taking a Muscle Buster from Samoa Joe during a dark match on RAW.
Edge and Beth Phoenix are retired profession wrestlers. Both were highly decorated superstars back in the day, with Edge winning 11 world championships and Beth being a Divas Champion and three-time WWE women’s champion. The WWE couple is happily married and has two daughters Lyric and Ruby.
The Undertaker and Michelle McCool tied the knot in June 2010 at a quiet ceremony in Houston, Texas. The two were dating since 2007.
This is the Undertaker’s third marriage, while it is Michelle’s second. Despite the vast age difference of 15 years, the WWE couple seems to be happy.
Miz and Maryse were married in February 2014. Miz is a wrestler that has held every major belt in the WWE and even headlined WrestleMania XXVII. Maryse too won the Divas Championship a couple of time.
Miz is recently coming off a long Intercontinental Championship reign, which started off the night after WrestleMania when Maryse, returned as the Miz’s valet, to distract Zack Ryder and pick up the win.
Lesnar and Sable had their fair share of hurdles before they got together. They met in 2004 after Sable’s divorce from former husband, Marc Mero.
The WWE couple started dating and were engaged by 2005. However, things didn’t quite work out for the two, as they called off the engagement only to again get married in 2006. The two have two sons and reside in Minnesota.
Perhaps the first couple to be introduced on WWE television, Macho Man and Miss Elizabeth together, were a sight to behold. Miss Elizabeth managed Macho and accompanied him to the ring.
Although the two were going through turbulent times in their lives, they were able to portray an emotional segment at WrestleMania VII that left the entire arena in tears. The WWE couple were dubbed as “The Match made in Heaven” and were kayfabe married at SummerSlam 1991.
The two divorced in 1992 but still worked together for sometime.
One of the more discreet couples in the WWE, Dean Ambrose and Renee Young, came out in public with their relationship only in March 2015. Both Dean and Renee have been very private about the dynamics of their relationship and have joined the cast of Total Divas for the sixth season.
John Cena and Nikki Bella are one of the most well-known WWE couples. They are known for their lavish lifestyle choices, including expensive cars, precious jewellery and multiple houses.
Their relationship has overcome some hurdles in the past, that included Cena not agreeing to marriage or having kids, owing to past failures in his romantic escapades. The couple would get engaged after Cena proposed to Nikki after their tag team match against The Miz and Maryse at WrestleMania 33.
However, the couple broke up in 2018 which was confirmed via social media
Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella started dating in 2011 and were married in 2014, after WrestleMania XXX at the high point of Bryan’s career. The couple’s marriage and life after was a prime focus of the reality show, Total Divas, and continues to be highlighted in Total Bellas .
The WWE couple is currently expecting a baby girl in spring next year.
CM Punk and AJ Lee were married on 13 June 2014, a day that will forever live in infamy as the day that CM Punk was fired from the WWE. The WWE couple started dating in 2013. They were earlier involved in a storyline, during Punk’s 434-day title reign, where AJ Lee was portrayed as an unstable woman smitten with CM Punk.
The power couple of the WWE, Stephanie McMahon and Triple H effectively control the business. Triple H is the Executive Vice President of Talent, Live Events and Creative and a founding member of NXT, while Stephanie is the Chief Brand Officer of the company.
The couple married in 2003 and has three daughters. Triple H is, in fact, highly regarded in the locker room for his understanding of the business. The couple is likely to succeed Vince McMahon as principal owners of the WWE.

Channel 4's Seven Year Switch follows four couples who end up switching partners in a bid to boost their flagging relationships
Sun-drenched views, free-flowing drinks and hours of child-free time sound like the perfect recipe for any frazzled parent.
But for four couples appearing on a new Channel 4 show, the free holiday to Thailand they were promised turned into crunch time for their marriages as they are forced to share a villa - and a bed - with total strangers.
Seven Year Switch follows four couples - Nikki and Simon, Rachel and Tom, Michelle and George and Gemma and Tony - who each believe they're taking part in a programme about couples' counselling.
But producers drop a huge bombshell when they all arrive in Thailand: they're to be split from their partners and paired up with another contestant.
Not only that, but the new couples - who have never met before - will be given their own villa, offered one double bed to sleep in and told to live as husband and wife for the next two weeks, and it's up to them to decide how to interpret that.
In addition, each of them must commit to extensive counselling sessions, and at the end of the fortnight they'll decide whether or not to continue with their real partner.
Relationship counsellor Lee Valls defended accusations that the show is 'voyeuristic', telling Mail Online that bosses wanted the couples to confront the problems in their relationship.
"Yes, we could send couples away together and give them intensive counselling, but what we wanted to do was to take them out of their comfort zone and the destructive cycles they were in," he said.
"We were very careful about who we paired each person with. The idea was that it would be someone who was very different from their own partner. There was a bit of compare and contrast going on."
At least one of the couples is on the brink of splitting even before they get in front of the camera - Tony, 29, had moved back in with his mum shortly before filming started, leaving partner Gemma, 28, with their two young children.
They'd got engaged but Tony got cold feet, postponing their plans while he decided what he wanted.
Tom and Rachel, meanwhile, were sleeping in separate rooms and had even discussed the practicalities of separating.
But even he was shocked by the producers' bombshell and threatens to leave, telling the crew: "You might as well stop filming now, I'll pay for my own flight home."
George, a self-confessed chauvinist who refuses to do the ironing, is paired with Rachel - who is taken aback by his attitude.
His real-life partner Michelle threatens to harm him if he tries it on with Rachel, warning him before they are split: "You can’t be naked around her. And if your hands go on her bottom, you won't have hands."
The programme clearly dangles temptation in front of the villa-mates by encouraging them to strip off for pool sessions and share a bed together, but also makes them confront the reality of their marital situation.
There are tears aplenty as each couple undergoes counselling and are forced to improve their communication, or else risk losing their loves forever.
Seven Year Switch airs Tuesday 6 February at 9.15pm on Channel 4
